Shattered StarI walked down the long airships corridor next to Gaius, whom seemed to be looking upon me. The suit which now covered my body, still breathed as if naught but skin. Trying to ignore how naked I felt, I continued forward until I noticed someone walking from the other side.
"It...can not be.."
Gaius looked to me again, filled with curiosity.
"Tis merely the White Raven, Scarlette. Is their something wrong?"
"It... it is nothing."
The White Raven approached us and stood within our way. Snide and cruel as always, he pushed us both aside as if to ram straight through us. Quickly I turned around irritated at the entire situation and spoke aloud.
"How Dare you, pestering maggot!"
I stopped and thought of what I had said. Naught before had I dared to think to insult and yet here, I could not hold myself back. The White Raven turned around and quickly grasped me by my neck tossing me into a wall and holding me over his head.
"Why don't you be a Good little Experimental Bitch and keep quiet for once?!"
He brought forth a small foreign dagger he likely claimed from a fallen enemy and placed it against my covered skin.
"I could kill you, Gods know I have Dreamt of it. As well as a few... other things."
He looked me up and down and I felt slightly more embarrassed then before. Happily my head was covered by my helmet, or he would have likely enjoyed my blushing. Without hesitating I kicked him hard in the groin, leaving a dent in his plating. He let me go and fell to the ground attempting to hold himself in dire pain. As I stood over him, I could hear Gaius laughing over in the corner.
"Got your hands on something you could not handle their Nael?"
"Bi----Biiiitt-"
"Try not to let it spoil your day."
Laughing Gaius approached me and we continued to walk forward until we reached a small door. Sliding it open my eyes grew wide with happiness as I looked upon a friend.
"Des?!"
The Miqo'te Desdemona adjusted her glasses as she sat back in her chair, typing away at her desk.
"Ah!, Crimson, please enter. Lets have a look at how your upgraded armor is working."
"W..wait I..."
I looked back to see Gaius salute me as he walked off. Sighing, I walked into the room and watched the door shut tight behind me. Des stood from her chair with a device in her hand and approached me. Touching my helmet, she released the clips and immediately removed it.
"Heh.. their you are my little red head."
I blushed a bit as she pressed a button and the suit changed from black, to near transparent, showing the muscular lining which I felt increasing my attributes.
"Not bad if I do say so myself."
She placed her hand upon my back and moved it downwards to my bottom. Smacking it, I staggered for a second, looking upon her in surprise. She remained with a very big smile upon her face.
"Mmmmm..."
She approached and lifted her arms to my shoulders as she gazed up to me.
"I was just thinking about the other day. You know, the Emperor might not like you playing with the kitty so much."
"I... wha..."
She snickered as she quickly pecked my cheek and leaned back walking towards her computer. The suit became black again as her device turned off.
"It's fine love, we'll play later, perhaps."
I held my head for a moment as I felt a rush of memories fill my mind. Everything has become so different to me and yet, their is has been a constant feeling of familiarity. As I tried to concentrate upon the memories, they faded and I looked back to Desdemona whom was now standing a bit worried.
"Is it the suit?! Are you experiencing any muscle atrophy?!"
"No! No... I will be fine, I just... had a long night is all."
"Makes sense, I assume it is not easy to appease such a man. Does he ever actually sleep?"
"Like a bloody log."
"Well, he is expecting you at the command center of the ship. I would not keep him waiting to long, lest he come looking for you."
"I see."
As I began to walk towards the door, I heard something strange behind me. As I glanced, I saw a giant dark crystal appearing before us. Desdemona stood from her desk and backed away.
"What the bloody hells is that thing!?"
"Stay back!"
As the crystal began to glow, aether circled around it at a continued rate until it glowed bright and changed into a miqo'te man, dawning blackened dragoon armor. He stood tall over me holding his spear in hand.
"IT'S AN EORZEAN! PUT IT DOWN!"
He glanced back at Desdemona whom was shocked beyond belief. He held his hand out and aimed it towards her.
"Stop."
She remained their looking upon him, no movement coming from her, as if time itself had frozen around her.
"Cleaver little move I learned a while ago. Now, as for you."
He looked back to me and removed his helmet. My eyes opened wide as I looked upon Fenris, surprised.
"Oh thank god! Fenris! What in the seventh hell has happened?! Why am I here in this?! Why are Gaius and Nael alive-"
"Interesting, I was going to ask just what you did."
"But.... Wait.... I did this? How? Why?"
"I am unsure how but as to the why, think merely upon your past and I am sure you will find why."
I thought to myself for a moment and still felt an emptiness to what might have happened.
"I.... I don't know."
"It is likely the events of which you changed are not recalled because the person you once were is no longer living."
"But... memories... memories are filling my head and I can not concentrate on them!"
"Don't. The more you do, the more likely you will return to the woman you are here. I need you, I need the link to the past and I need it to be fix this."
"I don't understand.. are you suggesting You are a time traveler?"
"I am not the man you know as Fenris. My name is Decim, I am Fenris from an altered reality. Only my story is the constant one. Time stand still for me where he will likely go on fulfilling his destiny. I can restore your timeline, however I require your help for it."
"I... see..."
Glancing over at Desdemona I felt a strange irritation, knowing she was losing time in his stop spell.
"Free her."
"She will be free, once we get away from this ship."
"If you are a time traveler, then why not just take us backwards in time right now?"
"It does not work that way for altered timelines. Right now, I need to seek my Zarakon. He will get us back to the point here time has altered."
"Why can you not?"
"Because the timeline is fractured. Think of it like a crystal shattering into pieces, reforming at a slow pace to become something it never was. If I took us via time crystal, we would likely travel for thousands of years. Never finding the right time to stop you. No, Zarakon will send us back to the very time and day. He knows all, he sees all and will likely remember just as much as you and I do of your timeline."
I thought for a moment and sighed aloud.
"Very well... How do we get off this ship?"
The door behind us opened and a man walked in.
"What the... Hey!"
Decim struck the man in the head and tossed him aside.
"Looks like he had the keys to a magitek glider."
Reaching down, he grasped the keys and tossed them to me.
"I assume you still know how to drive them."
"Probably... How do you expect us to get down to the docking bay with you wearing that?"
He concentrated for a moment and his armor changed into that of a centurions.
"This will do the trick for now."
We walked into the hallway and swiftly made our way to an elevator. I realized I left my helmet behind in the room and stopped.
"Wait! my helmet.."
"Tis not important."
I thought for a moment and shook my head.
"Why did I think it was?"
"The Scarlette of this timeline did, not you. Come."
We got into the elevator and took it down all the way to the bottom docks. As the door opened, we were greeted by several soldiers whom were working around the clock.
"Crimson Coeurl!"
"Ahh.. at ease, get back to work."
They saluted and moved back to their work. Decim and I quickly approached a Magitek Glider. As I got into the flight seat, Decim began to channel something within his hands.
"Stopga!"
Everyone in the room stopped moving instantly. His power of time was impressive, but also frightening. As he sat in the passenger seat he began to press buttons to ready the ship.
"We must away now."
"Right.."
I pressed the button to open the docking bay and let the ship float as the door opened slowly.
"Here we go.."
Launching from the bay I looked out to see several giant airships in the air over the mountains of Coerthas.
"Gods have mercy."
As I looked forward, I saw the city known as Ishgard. It had changed over time and from the outside in, was covered in weaponry.
"What is that?"
I glanced down to see a tail surrounding the city.
"It looks like a.."
A giant smashing sound was heard over head. I glanced up to see several Wyverns attacking the ship.
"Shite!"
One of the thrusters exploded, causing us to fling forward. As we stopped flying, the ship began to fall to the ground.
"Grab on!"
I took Decims hand, his armor changed back to it's dragoon look. He popped the glass top and jumped us out. As we landed upon the ground, we looked up to see the ship explode as it hit against a mountain.
"That was ....unpleasant."
"If you think That was unpleasant, you have not seen what we can do yet."
I glanced back to see several wild looking people covered in tattoos of the elementals. One of them I recognized by the voice alone.
"Kan-E?"
She walked forward, her hair was shorter then I had ever seen it, her eyes glowed white, no pupil to be seen. Her attire was very light as it covered her skin in particular ways but not others.
"Crimson Coeurl. You will come with us. The Dragon King will want his "spoils" of war."
