I leaned upon Haurchefant glaring at Ser Zephirin as he stood menacingly behind us. His grin reappraised his glee of what he was seeing. Looking towards me he motioned for me to come closer. I let go of Haurchefant and limped my way up to Zephirin as I held my staff for support. Grinning even more he leaned himself in next to my ear and whispered what he wanted of me.

"I'll make a deal with you Eidolon. Kneel before me. Beg me to release my hostages and take their place."

I looked at him with disgust as I continued to lean. Moving my hand, I readied to strike him across his face, but stopped, knowing he would likely harm innocent people for it. Biting my lower right lip I looked back at Haurchefant, Aymeric, Lucia, Ember and Vance. They shook their heads at me knowing what I would do. Despite my distaste, I did as he requested, knowing I was in no condition to fight further.

"I have your word none shall be harmed?"

He nodded towards me with a smile as he placed his hand upon the top of my hair, petting me as if a dog.

"I promise, you for them, they will not be harmed! Look at you, you can barely stand! Do you think you can make it up that flight of stairs in time even with their help?"

I glared upon him as I looked back towards my friends. Haurchefant grasped his blade and nearly charged at Zephirin until I forced myself to stand without the assistance of my staff. Quickly I tossed my staff aside and kneeled down.

"Please take me in place of your hostages... Knowing you, I will not have enough time to save them otherwise."

His grin turned into a full smile as he looked to Haurchefant with a clear look of victory.

"Very good Scarlette, that is what he called you yes? Is that your real name?"

I held my tongue as I looked up at him with anger. Placing his hand upon my left shoulder he glanced back to my friends smiling still.

"Away we go! Follow if you wish, but I assure you, you will have a fight on your hands should you dare."

With that we teleported away from my friends. Immediately I found myself in a dark room with only a small window for light. Glancing around I saw the three brume citizens leaning next to each other in a corner as they looked upon us in fear. Walking towards them, I leaned down and nodded towards them.

"Everything will be okay."

The young elezen boy in the left corner looked at me in fear still as he glanced back towards Zephirin.

"Run!"

I looked at him confused as I quickly glanced behind me to see Zephirin grasp my hair. Bashing me to the ground, I struggled to push myself up till he pushed me to the ground again. Glancing over to his captives he smiled a bit.

"See this boys and girls? Heretics must be punished by any means."

Kicking me across the small room, I held my stomach in pain as I looked upon him turning his attention to his captives. Removing his blade from his back his sickly grin grew wider.

"The three of you are heretics by default. Unfortunately you know far to much and I can't have that."

My eyes widened as he nearly slashed into one of them. Quickly I changed into my eikon form and placed a protective shield over them. Feeling my bodys power faint quickly, my hyur form flickered for a moment and I rushed to there sides. He looked at me with anger as I held my left hand out and blasted a hole in the wall.

"You leave, I kill your friends."

I glared at him but felt myself weakening far to quickly.

"I will fly back up. You will keep your word not to harm them one way or another."

He placed his weapon upon his back as he crossed his arms still grinning.

"Fine, I give you one moment. Better hurry."

My eyes widened as I quickly hugged the three young elezen and flew out of the area. Bringing them to the bottom of the vault, I flapped my red angelic wings as I slowly drifted to the ground. Several of the nobles looked upon me in aw as if I were a crimson angel from above. Placing the younglings upon the ground I smiled and nodded as I quickly lifted off and made my way back to the top. Landing where I had made a large hole, my eikon form dissipated quickly and I looked up to see Zephirin smiling.

"fourty-five seconds, not to bad. Though... hmmm"

He approached me and grasped my neck pushing me against a stone wall as I struggled to move.

"Looks like you are all out of power! So easily defeated because you wanted to save.... low born filth."

I struggled as I held my arms upon his hand which grasped my neck.

"One life... for three, sounds like a fair bargain..."

He squeezed at my neck, with a furious look upon his face. Harder and harder until I was gasping for air.

"GUHUHHHHH!!!!!"

I coughed aloud struggling until my arms went limp. He tossed me to the ground and I suddenly felt extremely tired. Without a fight, I felt him place my hands behind my back as he put glowing white chains over them. Moving down to my legs, he quickly clasped the same chains upon my ankles. Flipping my body over, he kneeled down and grasped my left breast hard. Followed swiftly by my right as he firmly grasped upon them and let them go.

"Mmmm... You know, I've always had a thing for hyurian girls. You're just my type. Though I admit, I should not be touching a heretic in such a manner, who would care?"

I looked upon him closing my eyes and opening them again in both pain and exhaustion.

"What ever you are planning to do, you best do it quick... Before I regain my strength and tear off your bits and piece."

He shook his head at me as he kneeled down next to me again, and ripped my shirt apart. Quickly he tore my skirt and forced me to look down to my undergarments.

"We burn witches Scarlette. Public humiliation shall suffice for the moment however. You see, I want you to watch, helplessly as I kill your Warrior of Light."

My eyes widened at his words and quickly he grasped another piece of metal placing it by my chin.

"Rave-hmm!!!"

Quickly he covered my mouth and clasped the cover over my head. Slowly, he began to drag me across the floor as he opened a door leading out to the light.

Ember smacked Ser Ignasse across the face, tossing him hard into Ser Noudenet. The two Heaven's Ward members stood in the way of their progress as Haurchefant attempted to rush as fast as possible up the Vault. As Haurchefant, Lucia and Ser Aymeric rushed past the gate to the arena which swiftly shut as the pass through. Ember and Vance looked towards them nodding.

"Go on, we got these two wimps."

Ember gave them a thumbs up as Ignasse attempted to pierce her with his spear, only to have it caught in her grasp and tossed aside. Flames covered her entire body as she slowly walked over towards him. Vance was blasted with a heavy dose of Noudenets arcane energy and quickly he wiped himself off, revealing his hidden scaled skin.

"What in the seventh hell?!"

Vance looked down at himself and sighed as a burst of smoke surrounded him. While it dissipated he looked at the elezen with a grin, standing taller then his enemy in an Au'Ra form.

"Well, jigs up, lets see here..."

He reaches into his pocket and takes a long swig of alcohol and smiles.

"Lets get messed up shall we?"

Upon the roof of the Vault, I was chained to watch what was to unfold. Behind me I could hear explosions and the battling of Rave and the others. Quickly I worked at my chains while he had gone below. Snapping through them slowly as I heard him slowly walk up beside me.

"Have a clear view?"

I looked at him with anger as the chains fell off. Pouncing upon him, I smacked him hard across the face, pushing him into a side of the roof. Regaining his composure he grasped his blade and slashed towards me. Dodging his attack, I summoned my staff and smacked his weapon from his hand. Watching his great sword fall down the long building he looked back and shrugged.

"I suppose I should have expected that."

With a swift movement, I felt something pierce my shoulders.

"GAH!!"

I looked behind me to see I was stuck to the wall again. He grinned and changed into his primal form, beginning to channel something within his hands. My eyes widened as I watched him create a spear of light energy.

"R..RAAVVEE!!"



Below I looked down to see Rave running towards the Archbishop and his airship, Haurchefant running beside him at the same speed. Stopping, Haurchefant looked up to see Zephirin holding his spear. As his eyes widened he quickly rushed while Zephirin released his spear towards Rave. Quickly Haurchefant matched his shield with the spear and hope filled my heart. Holding the attack back, I gasped as the spear pierced through Haurchefants shield and through his entire body.

"N.. No..."

As he coughed blood, my eyes filled with tears.

"NO!!"

Swiftly the Archbishops airship flew near us as Zephirin turned back into his normal form. Looking back towards me as he jumped upon the airship, he spoke with a big smile upon his face.

"I suppose you lost the war after all Scarlette."

The spears which pierced my shoulders dissipated as he flew further away. I fell to my knees, looking down as Haurchefant spared his last breath and closed his eyes for the last time. I sobbed aloud punching my fists against the roof.

"No, No no no no no no no no!"

My eyes burned red as I looked over at the airship barely within my eye sight.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!"

Bursting into my eikon form, everyone below gasped as the sky turned crimson red and I blasted off the roof in a haze following the airship, seeking to eradicate them all from existence with Chaos.
