For those getting 5006 error....

If you're getting a 5006 error on the lobby server then try changing data centers and then once in the new data center, change BACK to your normal data center. This usually fixes that issue.
The 2002 error is a completely different issue and that one is server side. =(
This is the secon time I am doing that. I can't get up to queue 1 and them I get the error 2002.
I'm fairly positive the 2002 is a data center authentication server error and nothing we can do to fix it.
The 5006 changing dc's will fix but the 2002... I get it, relog back into the start screen and can change to an EU/JP server DC no problem and play. Just something with peak hours and crashing in the NA DC clusters. Just like first few weeks of launch. :D

This error is very similar to error 1017, except to say that FF14 has had restrictions put in place for players to try and prevent servers from becoming overcrowded and creating issues for those still playing the game.
I WANT TO PLAY!! This isn't working for me.
Same for me. Getting the 2002 like crazy again since it's now "peak" hours. You would think they would have increased the capacity of the authentication servers on the data centers. :sigh:
If I recall, this is why so many of us left a month after launch. Well that and all the bugs :D
Saturday, Sunday, and now Monday. All days doing this. What's it going to be like when its official?
Yea it takes like 1-2 hrs just to get back on...im getting tired of this..... I just don't know why they didn't fix it when its so friken noticeable
My guess is they don't expect to retain more than 25% of the players that returned for Heavensward. I can't see why they wouldn't though. Many of the other MMOs are outdated, including the one who just released their latest "patch" today.
Better to stay where the story line is awesome, the graphics are amazing, and the mechanics are phenomenal!
The Congestion Error will go away in another few weeks, just like it did after launch in 2013 :D

Seems like a general issue today, I'm on Chaos Zodiark as well. Was online a couple of hours ago, but I just seem to get the 5006 one now...
And none of the tips listed here works. =/
Same here, Chaos Zodiark. I get into all other DCs fine but get 5006 error on Chaos.

Chaos Ragnarock Server error 5006, too.
I tried changing data center and come back; they all work except Chaos that give me error 5005. Nothing different happens..

This did not work for me. Feeling like the North American data centers are overwhelmed because of covid19. I was able to get into a European data Center but once I returned to the North American one, I get the same error code 5006
