Character
After completing Words of The Mother i have a mixed feelings.
Due to my constant dc at cutscenes, at key cutscenes, i missed all convo between Reya and Archy, and last time when i relogged, game throw me into cave so i doesn't heard what they all (characters) was saying about Minfie.
When she only appeared i was really have deja-vu. Somehow not only new hairstyle reminds of Aerith, but her new outfit and hair rings a bell. I remember all those tears that i cried everytime replaying ff7 when Sephiroth killed her. So i was trying to get rid of that thought and slap myself virtually for not predicted the bad ending. And then she gone. Oh come on!!!
we got to the old Sharyalan construction and fought that creepy little bastards (i was a bit scared of them, because i hate porcelain dolls irl) to hear about Zodiark and puff??
That's not fair!
I'm not so fan on Minfilia, i like more Shtola (now even more, because of Sera actress as her voice), but hey! Why did you killed her??
For me it's like - we need moar teh drama! MOAR!!! We need kids, pets and lala crying!!! We need kill someone - whom we need to kill? Let's kill Shtola - ooopsie, sexy kitten is already safed. Let's killed Thancred - his badass. Hey, wait!! Girls love badass-boy, and not only girls. And we already saved him. Ok let's kill Papalymo and Yda? Oh wait we doesn't have any idea what to do to them, let's kill Minfilia! She is a blonde, no one liked her, someone liked? Screw it we need moar drama.
I was not crying, i've cried more when they killed Ysayle. But here... I don't know. Maybe i just expected something else looking at concept art.
Did she actually die?
I don't exactly believe things that I can't see. Ysayle probably died from falling from such height if not the wound before that. Aerith died from the stabbing. Minfilia? Where is the Corpse? What is the cause of death? I think we come into conclusion too early. Remember what happen to Nanamo in 2.55? I thought she was dead with her eyes rolling and dropping to the floor. You can never be so sure.
As I was saying yesterday, even though Minfilia is mostly useless, there is too much of heavy storyline put on Thancred. Minfilia will be back eventually. I wouldn't even be surprised if it was somehow connected to his broken aether "chakras".
Well, story wise I find it strange. Both Kylie and Thancred talk about Minfilia as if she is a God on earth. My problem is I remember her quite differently.
During the 2.x story where we were trying to move to Mor Dhona, and she was like, "can't move, because I miss my mom". Then she got captured by Garlean, then Acian, more or less just give up without a fight. I was like, you have Echo too, do something.
SIgurd, Nanamo was loved by players. Minfilia.. I'm not sure. Most of my friends or fc members think that she is useless.
Archy, i missed that part. I don't know, they want to put some love story in the process?.. Papalymo/Yda a way more natural than that one, imho
I am not entirely sure if you have already seen it, so there might be a small spoiler related to the Thancred and Minfilia.

It seems that Thancred is responsible for the death of Minfilia's father due neglecting some duties. Based on that I would assume more older-brother/father kind of relationship between these two.
that's one i heard. He told that to Krile before quest started. I wonder what they talked about her dissolving
She's not exactly dead. Her aether has returned to the mother crystal and she has in a sense bonded with her. Becoming the voice of a weak Hydaelyn whom can barely speak. she lost the ability to manifest Minfilia whom atm appears as more of a summon.
I can tell they did this because everyone felt.the same about Minfilia... she had no real purpose.
The fact that her hair never stopped growing signifies she is alive somewhere. She's wearing a dress because she would otherwise be naked
I assume her salvation much like Estinine lies within somehow strengthening Hydaelyn to her former strengths. In order to do that the Ascians must be destroyed and Zodiark put down.
Even so we may never see her as the antecedent again. Let alone alive. But their is still possibility
As I understand it, Minfilia caught a ride to the "aether space" (whatever it is called, I don't remember) and drifted to the mother crystal with which she merged.
Now because the big mom is loosing energy the Minfilia's projection shattered. We could assume that her data are being stored inside the crystal and if it gets completely dry Minfilia could get deleted.
The main question is if Minfilia can get separated from the crystal again - which is quite possible outcome.
What I took out of it was this, and I haven't finished the story yet.. all the warriors of light carry a piece of Headelyns essence, which in turn allows them to fight the Ascians and the darkness. Minfilia in her appearance in aetherial form early in the new story talks of trying and failing to defeat them numerous times. So while the warriors of light carry Headelyns power to fight, Minfilia is an incarnation of her spirit bringing together all the warriors of light.
Though she's also just a person, and not consciously aware of it. That's how I've perceived it.

Yshtola is easy to love. She's a powerful female character whom does not hesitate to act while devising a proper plan.
Minfilia was always the voice of order. Seems fitting she would become the voice of the mother. At least for now.
Still miss me Yda the most... I want to fight at her side again.... and have a drink with aymeric xD
