On Tuesday evening I decided to stream some Baldur's Gate
- and Wednesday morning
as well - after finding an old Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal strategy guide in one of my book boxes a few days ago, and:
The love was immediate! I totally forgot how awesome this game was! And even better: You can still use cheats (although I try to keep it reasonable, just enough to progress, and not try to overpower the content)! And a good thing too, since I "accidentally" set the difficulty to perma-death (you can quick save & quick load in this game, but still.....). Gonna need some help with this one. I'm still in chapter one I think, and I already lost one of my party members for good. :O>
There's a chance that I might be going on hiatus from FF XIV for a while to exclusively play this game, but we'll see. I might stick with FF XIV 3 days a week, and Baldur's Gate the other 4, but again we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
And as the music & in-game voices/sound effects got very repetitious I played some vinyl instead, which were:
Tom Lehrer - Songs & More Songs
NWA - Straight Outta Compton
The Moody Blues - In Search of the Lost Chord
Lou Reed - Rock n' Roll Animal
Pink Floyd - Obscured by Clouds
So, for today's FF XIV session I just worked on leveling my monk - inspired by the monk I'm playing on Baldur's Gate - running about half of the hunts (with my paladin running the rest, the ones that my monk can't do), and the Holminster trust dungeon, up to the first boss (running these as a DPS/healer is very awkward, as unlike squadrons there is no "Engage" command, so I basically have to do the pulling and not the tank. :/>
). And after all that I just worked on leveling up my weaver desynth skill, and got it to level 320ish, piddled around on bard performance, and then just called it good.
And here's the records I played this evening:
Billy Joel - Piano Man
Stan Freberg - Best Of
Heart - Dreamboat Annie
Bill Justis - Plays 12 More Big Instrumental Hits
Okey dokey, nap time. Then I have to get ready for work <Take care.>
, everyone. And see you all on Friday (will most likely be playing Baldur's Gate on Thanksgiving) ;)>Why I Stream.
