Joe's Uber-Busy Weekend, 10/17 - 10/19

Public
Saturday

Good Guild Wars 2 session today, made possible by good sleep. Otherwise, it was pretty much my usual (playing Good Ol' Charlie Brown), working on my crafting, making my daily mats and also leveling up my artificer crafting skill, so I can make/upgrade what are called "agony infusiuons", items that increase your agony resistance. And for those that don't know, agony is a damage-over-time debuff that you start getting when you run the higher level (starting at level 20 I think) fractal - the equivalent of rifts in Diablo 3 - dungeons. Basically, it's there to keep fresh level 80 characters from getting carried through the super high-level fractals (theoretically, you COULD run him through them, but he's gonna die a lot!), at least as I understand it.

The records I played this evening were:

Instrumental Music of the Southern Appalachians
Jethro Tull - Benefit
Metallica - Ride The Lightning
Mozart - Eine Klein Nachtmuzik, and other filler tunes

And tomorrow on Sunday there will probably not be a stream, as I have a family get-together I have to go to, right around the time I normally start streaming. I MIGHT be able to do one, but it would probably be very late and very short, assuming I get back early enough.

Sunday

So, like Friday, there was no stream today. I had a family shinding to go to, which took up most of the afternoon. By the time I got home I was in no mood for much else. But at least me and my family got caught up on things. :)>

I WAS going to try to get a late evening stream going, but also like Friday my body was pretty much grafted to my bed, and didn't manage to peel myself off until late night. I did a short & quick Pinball FX3 and Pinball Arcade session when I woke up, hoping to make something worth uploading, but nothing really came of it.

On the upside, I called in again from work, mostly due to my left shoulder and upper-arm area hurting like crazy. My left arm would even feel . . . . . . . . . . some combination of tingling and numbness. Strain maybe? . . . . . . . . . . from time to time. So I figured it'd be better to just stay home and recoup.

Monday

This morning I did my usual in FF XIV, trying to level my dark knight. But unfortunately I didn't get the level 79 that I was hoping for so, hopefully next time. I also had to do some company seal farming as well, since I was getting low on ventures.

And got lucky again! Decided to tank another dungeon, and noone tried pulling for me. Always a good plus (I have a big problem with people doing this. It's one of my biggest pet peeves and probably the biggest reason I don't tank randoms in the first place. I'd rather them just call me a useless fuck-up and have me kicked from the group than to pull for me)!

And a strange thing happened during my Guild Wars 2 session this evening. I became an affiliate.

Although the method involved was . . . . . got mixed feelings . . . . . . . . . I started my stream, and then all of a sudden a SHIT-TON of chatters came on and started bloating up my chat box. I had a hard time distinguishing between the chatbot spam and the actual people who were trying to chat with me (some of them said I was on the "front page" of Twitch, whatever that exactly means.... Home page maybe?). I think this might have scared off the regulars that were also coming on as well. I just barely found them through all the other chat. So if any of you regs see this, sorry. Really hit me for a loop as well.

On the other hand, if this had never happened, I'd have never become an affiliate. I have been a Twitch streamer for about 3 and a half years now, and if I hadn't become one by now, I'd probably never will. So, there was a silver lining in this cloud after all. Plus, it was also good practice for me as well, learning how to handle massive crowds of viewers, even if they were mostly bots. Kinda feels like Louis, off of Interview With the Vampire, that scene where he's transforming into a vampire. Yeah, "To change is painful." as Henry Rollins once said.

Buuuut anyway, for the actual Guild wars 2 session itself it was Good Ol' Charlie Brown (my warhorn/axe/greatsword warrior) once again. I did my usual crafting, as well as fractal running. And like before, it was win some lose some, completing some runs but having to bail out of some others because I fall so far behind I'd never be able to catch up (I'd rather show myself the door than to be kicked out of it). I'll get better someday. :/>

And the LP vinyls that I played today were:

Led Zeppelin - Physical Grafitti
Primus - Sailing the Seas of Cheese
The Ventures - Golden Greats

Buuut anyway, have to get ready for work now. <Take care.>, everyone. And thanks for watching/reading. And have a great night/day. ;)>
