I fucking love this! Oh, it's James Randi, in case you don't know.


So, last night/this morning I played some more Guild Wars 2, continuing to work on my mesmer. And I FINALLY got him to where he's end-game viable now (he was a level 80 still in level 68 gear, as it was the only way I can get the kind of stats he needed for his build). But, I had switch his setup to a "Giver's" stat setup....:



....which is meant to take advantage of this particular passive (chosen out of 3 in the branch):

Condition damage = 7% of toughness. Expertise = 13% of concentration


With the "Giver's" stats, I can actually craft this kind of gear. The other stat combos I tried were basically uncraftable, as well as having useless stats (vitality in one and crit rate in the other; Condition damage, aka damage over time, doesn't crit).

So, once all that was squared away, I did a few world bosses, as well as a dungeon. And aside from a few minor tweaks here & there, this guy is now good to go!



Mixed it up with my mesmer today, doing a few world bosses, some story questing, and ran a dungeon as well. Otherwise, it was pretty much a dead stream today, with only Keitaro87 dropping by for a hot minute. It happens.

OH! And I forgot to mention something that I love about the mesmer class that I'd like to see more of in other games: Portaling. The ability kinda works the same way it does in Portal, being able to lay down a 2-way portal that other players can use. For content like your average jumping puzzle, where they often resemble the "Leap of Faith" event in Gold Saucer, they are a godsend!

And last night/this morning I played some more gw2, continuing to work on my mesmer. And it was actually a pretty action-packed time this time. The guild that I'm in (oh, a side note: unlike other MMOs, you can be in as many as five guilds at a time in Guild Wars 2. You're not restricted to just one. You can only represent one at a time though, FWIW) decided to all do a world boss run. But unfortunately I couldn't run with them much, as they were doing content I haven't unlocked yet. *sigh*



Pretty good session today. Like usual, it was all mesmer, doing a mix of world bosses and story questing. Really liking this build right now, although it isn't without its drawbacks, the big one being that all abilities require a target ie. the dreaded tab-targeting. At least with my flamethrower/mortar engineer the abilities can be manually aimed. Much much less of a headache!

And CraazyFYI1 came by. Good to see him! Been a while, almost a month. And a good thing too, as I was about to shut down fairly soon, due to me nodding off from poor (dream/nightmare-filled) sleep. We ended up talking a while though, catching up on stuff.

Nailed it!


This morning I watched a spot-on video about the decline of video games (shown above). Definitely downloading and keeping this one!

Otherwise, it was more Guild Wars 2 last night/this morning. Doing my crafting & open-world dailies and the world bosses that would normally spawn right around the time when I start my evening streams, so I'm not in such a rush to get my stream going beforehand (I might start doing this from now on!)

I also played my revenant character a little bit, running a few world bosses. But apparently I didn't learn my lesson last time, as I forgot that my build has no Arm's Length or stun break abilities, meaning I was getting tossed around like a rag doll much of the time. <Oops!>



This part was written quickly, as I went a bit overlong on my stream, and still had IRL stuff to do.

Early stream today, but surprisingly a very long one, as I had little to no sleep, due to riding lawn mowers and other loud bumps in the night day.

Otherwise, for the session itself it was all mesmer again, this time mostly doing quests and a few dungeons. And at the end, I started working on upgrading his inventory bags, trying to get as much inventory space as possible, as it seems I'll be playing this guy a while. :)>
