First impressions

Public
I've played some hours now and it's time to reflect on my experience during this time. When I bought this game two days ago I was a bit nervous because I wasn't sure if I would like this game. I don't have much mmo experience and I picked this up because it was suggested in a reddit thread. Also, this game was on sale so I thought: why not...
So I begun my journey without expectations. Although I had tried VI & X at friends places growing up. First thing that impressed me was the soundscape. I like the music in game alot. The starting scene took me back to skyrim; although a much more peaceful experience since I wasn't heading to my ending. I was a bit overwhelmed at all the menu items so I just decided to trust in the tutorial quests; rather than trying to figure everything out myself. So I got going and soon I was invited to a free company with helpful people. I got some gil + potions that helped me alot day1. At first I didn't realize the flaming '!' quests that seem to be intended for levelling so I wasted a lot of time running around trying to figure out how to get levels to unlock new class quests.

In character creation I ended up selecting a wildwood Elezen and trough some playing around he ended up with a pink butterfly mark on his cheek. The character begun to take shape when I chose the goddess of love. Lance seems to be the obvious tool for a male lover ☆⌒(*^∇゜)v
So I managed to reach level 15 and now it feels like the story is starting to unfold. I'm looking forward to my next play session.

All characters seem unique in this game. There seems to be alot to do in this game. The residential district had a nice atmosphere, I had someone from my free company to show me around the free company house and I'm digging the social aspect of this game. This game looks like its very good for role playing so I'm definitely hyped for that after i get my first character to endgame and familiarize myself with the customs of Eorzea.

This concludes the introduction. I'm going to try and update my blog to recap my experiences and relive my favorite moments.

-------------------------------------------------------

I hear, I hear a beautiful voice that seems to originate from within. I feel, I feel calm excitement. I think I'm in a dream and someone else is here too. Who is this dark presence? Is it the part of me that I refuse to acknowledge?

I snap awake in a carriage heading to New Gridania. I'm travelling with a talkative merchant who seems to be intoxicated. We're in the middle of a forest- reminds me of home. There seems to be some kind of fight going on- doesn't concern me, I mean, I'm not in any real danger, am I? We pass the scene and I'm greeted but fluffy creatures that call me "kupo", they're surprised I can see them. They seem like spiritual entities that I hear in old tales. I arrive my destination.

I'm suggested to introduce myself to a "Miounne". I go and greet her and she fills me in on my situation. -I can't even remember why I decided to leave home, oh well, doesn't matter now. I decide to embrace my role as the newcomer. I'm given meaning in training to become a warrior. I never even considered using this old spear dad gave me. I'm send to kill innocent creatures in the forest. I suppose there's a good reason to this and proceed to kill them all. There's a giant walking tree, I make sure to avoid going near it. I continue listening to my mentor and doing the quests that are assigned to me. I feel like I'm learning a lot and improving fast.

What is courage I'm being taught? Composure and resolve was it? A dark character has caused a scene at the dojo. He looks like one of those strange kids back home. What's gotten into him? He comes charging at me and points his spear at my face. I feel a rush going trough my body. I can feel everyone's tension in the room. I realize this guy is out of his place. Usually the dark ones avoid attention, this one seems to be craving it. This is not the way to get acceptance bro... I stay silent and the discomfort of the situation seems to finally reach darkbro. He leaves in a hurry. I can see my master screaming inside. Crowd is still confused, unsure of what has happened. Since I'm the new guy, my presence might prevent them from venting, so I just decide to leave and continue my training objectives.

During the following days I get more acquainted with my surrounding and the people around me. I meet a well armored individual who gives me gifts and invites me to his house. Apparently he's a general at a local "free company" and he invites me to stay in touch with them. I'm also given a rank of initiate, but I don't know what all this is, yet. Nevertheless I'm happy to meet other people and these guys seem helpful- perhaps someone i can ask for help in my time of need.

Darkbro continues to interfere with my training. I agree with my master that his understanding of courage is just mindlessness. He doesn't seem to have understanding of cause and effect. He doesn't seem to give much thoughts to his actions.
