Around the beginning of the year with the new patches and all, I noticed that the amount of people posting stories on the Lodestone had increased drastically.
This was even more evident when the virus struck and people were forced to be home more, causing an uptick in Lodestone posts. People started waiting to alleviate their boredom and new series were born.
But now it's been quite a while since I have seen anything from most of these new people. The stuff they were writing has disappeared. I have a feeling that most got hit by the 'it's harder than it looks' reality of doing it, and have either run out of motivation, ideas, or just interest to continue.
Sure, they might come back and write more, Lord knows I can take a loooooong time to continue something. Just look at me and Modern Girl, it was more than two months between 3.2 and 3.3. So I know what it means to stop for a bit. But many of these new writers tend to totally disappear after 2-5 blogs of stuff, never to return.
Like I always say, it's easy to start an idea but can be damn hard to keep it going unless you really like doing it. I hope some of them return cause there were some good ideas flowing. Who knows, maybe they'll find their muse again.
What happened with me is getting busy... and never really having the chance to stop from there. I have been trying however to get back in to finish my shadowbringers stuff... is just too busy. between new games to play and trying to keep my job....
I know the regulars get busy at times, but at least you eventually come back and write something. ;-)
But the new people who try their hand at it, so few of them tend to keep it up for more then a handful of entries. Like I said, they dabble in it, lose interest and more on.

With me, I've been struggling with angst. A lot! So it has been a bit difficult to focus on writing stories.
Been busy too and other games as well. But I have one chapter coming up soon then working on the next.
