So, another Thursday MINE static and yet another attempt at Thordan EX. If you remember, I talked about doing it a couple of weeks ago. Last week we attempted it but could not clear. That last part defeated us over and over. This week we tried again and THIS time we were successful, YAY!
I mentioned it before, Thordan is a VERY scary EX to do and many consider it the hardest EX of all of them. There is soooo much crap happening, sometimes from many different sources, and it can be soooo damn confusing which way you need to go to avoid all of it and do the mechanics right. One misstep and you are dead and probably others too.
The funny thing about Thordan though is the early parts are not so bad. Sure there is a lot of crap, but it comes in spurts and is pretty easily manageable. But after the scene where the Knights surround you and the beam hits; Oh BOY..........That is when HELL starts!!!!
The 3rd part of that is soooo HARD! SOOO many mechanics and AOE's all at once. Thordan's attacks, Dragon eye attacks, various Knight attacks, one after the other, after the other, it just goes on and ON! It is soooo easy to panic and misstep, though I am sure once you have seen it 20+ times, it becomes routine. ;p
You know, it's funny comparing this to Emerald Ex the difference. Except for the swords and soldiers, Emerald is pretty mellow, with little overwhealming. THIS though, Oh MAN, there is a REASON many consider Thordan to be one of the hardest EX's!
I, once again, did it as a Dancer. I could have done it as a healer but chose not to since all my previous practice was as a DPS. Man, Dancer at 60 sure does not have many buttons, none of the big procs.
So now I can say that I have cleared Thordan Ex at Minimum I level and NO Echo! YAY!
Oh, the next 60 primal is Sephirot EX. We tried him for a bit and Holy Crap, the AOE's! Seriously, it is AOE city! :O
We DID get to the colors once, but we need a LOT more practice on phase one to consistently do it. He was a pain in the ass unsynced at 70, I can't imagine how much of a bitch this is going to be MINE. :O
But I won't find out until January since the group is taking a 2 week break for the holidays. After all, who wants to play FF14 on Xmas eve? That is grounds for Divorce! ;p

Yeah, I heard of this fight back in the heavenward/stormblood days, how hard it was. If you told me back then that I would have a proper clear on it at min i-level and no Echo, I would have thought you were full of crap and teasing me. ;p
