A Fine Addition - A Kupo of Fine Additions

Public

What is becoming a common theme in this long journey is that RNG is most certainly not my friend. However, after spending two weeks laying waste to the Pomguard and the incarnation of their beloved primal, King Moggle Mog XII (may his glorious aetherial residue live on in the form of all the Demimog Demimateria I acquired over those two weeks), I finally acquired the Maliferous Mogtana.

I also learned that it is very much possible to depose the Moogles' majestic monarch immediately after he is summoned by his Pomguard if you deal lethal damage within a single global cooldown. For Samurai, this means a Midare Setsugekka followed immediately by Hissatsu: Senei which will deal enough damage to put him down even before his theme song can kick in.

As the name infers, this "Mogtana" very much represents the Moogle theme that it is named after with patches of soft cloth similar in texture to a Moogle's fur and purple, ribbon-like fabric wrapping around the scabbard and a miniature moogle face at the end, complete with their signature pom. While the blade itself is fairly unremarkable compared to its more eye-catching contemporaries, a tiny golden Moogle head decorates the hilt itself, just below the hand guard, or Tsuba, while, if you look at it from the right angle, the Tsuba itself is even crafted in the shape of a cartoonish Moogle.

With all of the Demimog Demimateria I farmed while trying to acquire this fine addition to my collection, I was also able to craft an improved version of this weapon, the Maliferous Moggle Mogtana, complete with shiny particle effects, all while maintaining a surplus for whatever future use I may intend for them. Music does seem to be the Moogles' focus and in addition to the blade's pink glow, musical notes revolve around the hilt, encapsulating the Moogles' love of song, even as this blade sings with every strike.

Well, that was excessive use of the word "Moogle," but now it is time to set course for Thanalan and the Lord of the Inferno, Ifrit, whose defeat will allow me to obtain "Ifrit's Katana." Please note that the woefully uninspired name does not diminish its value in my eyes.
