The Push For Lahee Allin Tuta Et Al

Public
I had received news that I would be heading to Rak'tika to do an extended mission to help the Qitari (qiqirn equivalent) beast tribe over there. That wouldn't be for about a couple of moons but it was relayed to me by Feo Ul (more on her later), A few notes on the bamboo flute that Bongaboi was playing got me nodding my head, the percussion playing in the back of my mind as the daybreak rose over Shirogane. Only five jobs were to be leveled on my end, and Dark Knight, the focus job for the efforts to deliver peace to Norvrandt, was the next job being leveled. Civilizations was the name of the air my husband was playing.

My husband, Bonga, was continuing on with leveling his crafters and gatherers and reached level 72 as a monk. He was logging my recent malmstones with delivering items, reaching maximum trust, learning new blue mage actions...I had reached level 60 as a Blue Mage and 80 as an astrologian and all of my healers were at maximum level. I even went up a couple notches on my Eureka elemental work, the first time in months where I seriously worked Eureka Anemos, all to dispose of Protean Crystals to upgrade a Duelist's Chapeau that I still couldn't dye. I decided not to return to Eureka for a while after that. It felt good to actually ride on a mount in Eureka, something that I was never able to do in the past. It was Ezel Il's first ever experience seeing the Isle of Val too.

"You like playing that flute hook, eh Boi?" I asked Bonga, who was drinking a rolanberry lassi with extra beet sugar.

"It's smooth as silk, I can't stop playing it," he said, snapping his fingers and doing his iconic pose.

"You and your gimmicks...so, what do you think of my progress?"

"I can only assume that the reason you wanted to get rid of leveling astrologian was so that you could get that soothsayer glamour."

"I looked like a Gypsy fortune teller, I don't mind that. Now I got the three glamours I wanted to get: red mage, black mage and astrologian."

"In the long push to finally get that amaro, but the best is yet to come and that has to be dancer, right?"

"That won't be for a while. I have to level these three tanks that are at 70 or above, I am targeting finishing that by the end of next month. I would like Dark Knight to be done by the end of the calendar year so that the role quests I have to do are wrapped up," I said.

"Well, know your pacing but don't bite off more that you can chew, Bae," he said, wagging his finger.

"And why is that, Boi?"

"You may be a 71 Dark Knight, going on 72 with augmented armor but these monsters are not to be messed with. They can still give you a lesson in knowing how strong you really are. Even if you get to 72, the mobs in the Tempest are seven levels above you. They can still give you a hurting if you're not careful."

"But Boi, I am a tank dammit! I have strong defense which allows damage to be mitigated even against mobs who are of a higher level than me. And my companion is supposed to give me sufficient cover since he is level 10 healer, defender and attacker. So every mob has to deal with both of us. One tank, me, and one all-around companion, Ryou."

Bonga was sulking. He was still not convinced I could handle all of the mobs as a 71 dark knight. I gave him a headpat, which caused him to freeze, then melt. "!!!!"

"Listen, love, I got this. All you have to do is record my progression and that will be that," I said to him. "I'll be fine."

"Right, right, whatever you say..."

"Hey, Bonga?"

"wat?"

"I have this funny story to tell you." A crane was hovering down, walking like a Highlander without pants. "I talked with Feo Ul the other day, she told me that she had a surreal dream. She was a culinarian living in Tokyo and working with a expert chef named Souma and that her name was Megumi Tadokoro. And she had blue hair instead of orange. And that Souma stole her orange hair. She not pleased but somehow she was amazed that she could cook. Normally, the Nu Mou culinarians in Pia Enni prepare her meals but this time, she made them herself as a Hume."

"Oh, well, that is news to me, Bae," said Bonga with his trademark laugh. "Heheheheheeeheh!"

"Why do you laugh like that?"

"Cause I have copyright to it."

"You cannot copyright a natural gesticulation, that is in the public domain!"

Deadpan. "Did you mean pubic?" Immediately, I roundhouse-kicked Bonga into a wall, his head smashing through it. "Oh, that hurt." Eventually, I healed him and put him in a corner in my apartment for the rest of the day while I went on my usual escorted run from Othard to Il Mheg, using teleporting portals but mostly running.

I have it on good work that I was underestimating Bae. She's quite strong for hunting as a upper-mid level tank.
