根に帰り古巣を急ぐ花鳥の同じ道にや春も行くらん

　－ 二条為定（御子左流二条家三代）「新千載集」より


この歌を挙げて、「心なき花鳥をうらやみ、色音に惑うあはれさも」と、

息子、十郎元雅（観世元雅）の早過ぎる死に悲しみ揺れ動く己の姿を世阿弥は語る（「夢跡一紙」）。

でも、じつのところ、花にも鳥にも心はあると、あたしは思う。

その色音にこそ、生きて死ぬことの「あはれ」が映し出されているのではないだろうかと。
