Kura- Origins #3

Public
"AHHH! My back!" I screamed aloud in pain, resting upon my chest.

The same pain could be felt down the back of my legs in select spots. I could feel shackles upon my ankles and my wrists, which kept me upon my chest. Crying out in pain as I attempted to move, the restraints kept me from moving or adjusting. Hearing the sound of a book page turn, I glared to my side where Garrik was sitting, reading.

"Try not to move to much my dear. I would much rather you not require more tattooing." He stated with distaste as he as he began to read from his book.

"And with thy last breath did she state. Protect her. See to her birth right and destroy her enemies."

Lifting his eyes from his book, he looked over at me in the dark prison.

"Finally, I have done what was needed." He claimed, holding out a small chain necklace with a strange gem upon it.

"Did you know I was the one whom delivered you when you were born?" He asked as he placed his book within his pocket.

"Your father was so furious.. at the mere sight of you. He did not even care your mother died immediately following. He knew your existence would bring a frown upon his status." He leaned to his left, grasping a wine glass and taking a small sip before continuing his tale.

"You meant more to her then her life. She knew you would be destined for great things." He stated, sipping at his wine glass again.

"I'm not interested in a history lesson from you right now." I pressed my head against the cushion below me.

"Now now, no reason to be stubborn. We have given you the opportunity of a lifetime. A means to end our war against the dragons." He stopped sipping his drink and placed it down upon the small table beside him again.

"Thirsty?"

"No." I firmly stated, turning my head away from him.

"Not for wine."

"Oh, it is not wine." He stated as he grasped the glass and stood from his stool, quickly sitting right beside me.

"It's dragons blood. You see it is my turn to take on my promise as well."

Out of disgust, I move my head to look at him and asked the only question in my mind.

"Why?"

Around his hand, a chain with a gem upon it shimmered in the low lighting. He unwrapped it from his hand and placed it gently beside me in the cell.

"This necklace belongs to your mother. Within the gem was all that remained of an ancient wyrm killed over one thousand years ago. A small portion of her eye." He stood up and walked back to his stool and table.

Leaning over to grasp the glass of dragons blood he had and walking back to me. Grasping the key to the cell door, he unlocked the door and walked in beside me. Pouring the blood upon my back which swiftly strolled down my bottom, neck and ribs.

"Their's no use in fighting what you are Kura. The Inheritor of Ratatoskrs power. Long has your family served the dragons and long shall you continue."

"That is a lie!" I growled at him, cringing in pain as the tattoos burned from the blood.

"You're a sick old man whom killed my brother and father. My father may not have been the greatest person but he gave me a home to live in rather then send me to the brume."

"He would have killed you had I not intervened and informed the church of the situation. Trust me when I state, he had no intention of keeping you alive till it was made apparent how useful you could be to him instead." He sighed aloud as I remained quiet and turned my head away from him again.

"You will understand someday I suppose. Let us just wait for now until you have healed up." He walked to the door to the prison, opening it up and letting very cold air flow in. Strange to me was how it did not seem to bother me.

He cast another sleep spell upon me and made me fall asleep yet again. Much of the following time was about the same. Someone came in and fed me and poured more disgusting blood upon my back and legs. After a long while, I lost track of time. I suspected night and day were timed by when I received meals but otherwise, I remained lost.

It took a long time for the tattoos to heal, or rather no longer hurt. From what I was told, they were healed weeks ago. As I was asleep someone opened the door and walked in. Unlocking the cell door and grasping me by my hair.

"Ahh! What do you want!?"

"Bath time sweetheart."

It was the gray skinned elezen from before. He removed the shackles from my ankles which was all they put on anymore. Adapting to my constant nudity took a while. Though I was asleep most of the time, it still felt demeaning. I stood up and slowly moved out of the cell.

He pushed me to make me move faster. However, my body was weak from not moving much for a long period of time. Walking through the door to the prison made me squint as my eyes required adjustment. Shoving me again, he intended me to move faster. The walls around were uneven, as well as the ground.

Clearly we were in a cave and judging by the cold, still within Coerthas. Walking into a small area, I noticed a steaming bathtub in the left corner. As I walked closer to it, I could not help but smile, a normal bath was all I wanted. Yet there was something else rather important to take note of. I turned around and looked up at the gray elezen, whom was smirking as he glanced around, noting we were alone.

"So, umm.... want to join me?" I grinned up at him, biting my lower lip as he grinned as well.

"Hmm... Would love too, But well, gotta make sure you get back to your cell." He stepped closer and rested his hand upon my pelvis.

"But, I'll take good care of you after that. Filthy little noble."

"Mmmm... Making me wait to get clean first? You're just the most cruel."

I slunk my arms around his waist, resting my chin upon his chest. He did not stop me, which was perhaps the worst idea possible for him. I grasped his blade from his sheath and quickly pierced through his chest.

"Grrrr..." He cringed with his eyes wide in horror as he looked past me.

"I'm sorry, what was it you kept calling me? Filthy noble? I can't understand you while your damned lungs fill with blood." I glared up at him as he coughed the last of his air and fell over me. His body was heavy and it forced me to the ground under him.

"Not... how I imagined that going." I stated from under him as I groaned, pushing him off me. Pulling his blade from his chest was just as difficult. As I pulled it out, a guard walked by and stopped. He turned his head to notice what was going on and quickly grasped his weapon.

"Oh... Hi.... If I said he was dead when I got here, that would not allow you to just turn around would it?" I asked, with a grin before he began to charge.

"Take that as a no... great.." He quickly thrust his blade toward me, cutting a slight amount of my hair as I knelt down and slashed him through his chest. Falling over as his blood spat upon my body.

"Uggg!"

I cried out as I glanced to the bath. Sulking a bit as I knew I did not have the time. Before I could think, I was running and heading toward the chilling air. The cave was very hard to see in, even with my eyes adjusted. Trying to focus was almost impossible.

I kept tripping my toes upon rocks and scratching my feet upon the harsh ground. Tapping against a big rock made me stop in pain.

"OUCH!!" The sound of my voice echoed down the long cave and I sighed as I heard footsteps quickly approaching. I glanced around to see a fissure near by and quickly hid behind it as two guards ran near me. They glanced around, walking fast to see what made the sound.

*Now..*

I stated in my mind as I quickly sprung from the spot and cut one of them in the back. The other was shocked by my appearance and staggered backwards. I went to slash at him, but they quickly blocked the blade with there shield. Swiftly following it by a smack to my arms, which forced me to stagger away.

"Stand down! I don't want to hurt you miss." The guardsmen stated with his blade ready.

"Better strike to kill, I'm leaving one way or another!"

I went to slash at him but he blocked my attack, tossing my arms backwards and forcing the blade from my hands. Instinctively he pierced his blade through my left arm and I screamed in pain.

"AHHHHH!!!"

"Kneel. KNEEL!" He ordered me as he tugged his blade at my arm. I did as he said while he grasped my arm and began to pull the blade from it.

*Don't go into shock. Don't go into shock Focus. Focus. The blade is next to you. Grab the blade. He's distracted. Do it!*

Though it seemed dishonorable, I felt I had no choice. If I did not get free now, I would end up back in the cell for god knows how long. Now that they know I am not on there side, they might even kill me. As he pulled the blade from my arm, I felt it fall down, incapable of moving. Likely he severed some of my nerves, as well as pierced bone.

"Now, lets get you back into your cell-Ugh..."

"I'm sorry...." I stated to him, very disappointed in myself as I pulled the blade from his side and stood up. He fell over, slowly dying from the wound. Yet his eyes were distant, which meant he was likely in shock. I turned away, noting that I did not encounter Garrik as I found the entrance. Stepping out, I was flooded with an incredible blizzard of snow, yet did not feel to chilled despite my situation.

The wound upon my left arm was however very bad and bleeding. I glanced down at the snow and cringed, knowing what was ahead. Looking out to the distance, I could barely tell where I was, aside from deep in the mountains. At the side of the entrance, was a torch still burning. Cringing as I grasped it with my right arm and tossed it to the ground.

Kneeling down, I held the blade over the fire and then placed it upon my left arm cauterizing the wound and stopping the bleeding. I stood up, after a moment, whimpering in pain before I began to walk into the snow. Allowing my arm to remain at my side, I held the blade in my right arm, walking as I hoped soon I would be able to cast myself to the aetheryte home.

To Be Continued.

Faerie [Aether]

Much better dear with the structure, it flows better.

Those guards must be complete garbage if armed and armored men can't even defeat a weak naked girl with a mere dagger. But I guess you got to fudge it some for her to survive. ;p

She did not really strike me as someone super skilled, just a noblewoman playing playing part time fighter.

Esper Eidolon

Diabolos [Crystal]

well, being a small portion of a resistance, they are not likely the best fighters, nor well geared to be fair.

They also likely did not post many guards due to it being just one noble girl.

Anyone in a situation as such would likely do what they could to get out. Small chance though it may be, she's not stupid at least.

After the time spent there, even in an prison, she would likely have learned the patterns

Esper Eidolon

Diabolos [Crystal]

plus, she's definitely not the most skilled at the moment. If she was, she would easily cut them down without hurting herself. Instead she's going to have a few scars for her troubles.
