Eidolon- Prelude of Shadows #13

Public
The big day finally came for us. We stood outside the Crystal Tower, peering up at it as all of our friends remained behind us. They cheered us on as the four of us slowly entered the tower. Turning around, I looked upon them all one last time. Odin stood beside Uncle Kroh and Krehmia.

He gave me a thumbs up and a smile, quelling my worries, but not the sadness I felt. No matter what, I knew I would not see them again. Not this version at the very least, and I grew up with all of them. The graves for those we lost from age and otherwise were staggering. Many whom would commit there entire lives to seeing this day happen.

Even uncle Cid whom was long gone and his friends. Uncle Alphy had a slightly longer life then most, but was never fully pulled to reality. When he passed on, it was due to the strain upon his aetherial body. Mum cried watching as she could do nothing to help. He died in her arms, peacefully, but she was never the same after.

Krehmia leaned down as two more guests arrived to wave us off. She picked up Alpha, while the automaton OMG crawled up her back and rested upon her shoulder. Alpha kweh'd toward us, waving his feathered wing. It was at that point, I knew everything would be okay for them. Master Denz, the Tower Guardian and mum kept walking into the tower while I kept my eyes out to them all a little longer.

Mum finally walked back to my side, placing her hand upon my plated shoulder.

"Are you ready?" She asked me, worried, knowing probably everything I was feeling.

"I... I don't know... I guess... I just wish we could take them all with us." I said, trying not to cry over the thought.

"They all exist in the timeline we intend to travel. We can not harm the timeline by allowing them to travel with us. As is, I am a risk but.. well, I will not leave the First. And as for you..."

She glanced to me, and adjusted my hair a bit, looking to me with a smile.

"You don't exist yet. So you should not cause any issues."

"What of Master Denz and the tower guardian? They exist." I stated, curious as I glanced toward them.

"Yes, but the tower guardian will be bound to the first much like me. Master Denz is always traveling time and knows how to keep himself from ....destroying time." She stated as she wrapped her dark blue scarf around her neck.

I looked out to everyone again and began to back up. The massive doors began to shut behind us and I turned around, looking into the tower and its crystal formations, listening as the doors shut, and sealed off the world we would leave behind. Denz stopped as he reached the stairway, twitching his ears as he raised an eyebrow.

"Someone is here." He stated as he looked to mum and I.

"Guardian, get the tower ready for transport. We will take care of the uninvited guest." Master denz commanded as the tower guardian nodded, quickly teleporting to his control room while we rushed up the stairway. Rather then climb the entire way through stairs, once we reached the opening of the tower, Master Denz quickly floated mum and I up to the theater which lead to the prior emperor of allagans Throne upon an open crystal patio. We quickly rushed outside to see a strange man sitting upon the throne. He was rather small compared to the chair itself but he looked rather relaxed with his back against the chair and his legs reaching out to the side.

Upon further study of him, I noticed that I recognized him. However it was unclear to me from where.

"My my... What have my dear puppets been up too in my absence?" He asked as he quickly teleported from the chair to standing in front of us. The dark aether he portrayed suggested he was an ascian. Creatures whom till now I had only been told about from stories my mother told me.

"Solus." Mum stated with distaste as she grasped her gun and pointed it at his skull.

"Resorted to mechanical toys instead now? How weak you have become, such a shame really." He said, shrugging toward her as his eyes lay quickly upon me.

"You however, have grown into a powerful young woman! I wonder, how long was I in the dark world? Skan held me for as long as he truly could before his bindings were finally broken." He kept his eyes upon me, thinking I would answer him. I was still confused as to how he even got into the tower in the first place.

"You don't remember you dearest imaginary friend Emmy do you?" He asked with a smile as the images popped in my head.

"Emmy? But... what?" Master Denz stepped in quickly blasting the ascian backwards.

"Ahhh the Starweaver. The biggest thorne in my side for... well... a long time I suppose. If you're hear, then I suspect you've some sort of elaborate plan to defeat me already, expecting me to arrive in the worst of times. But, I came prepared for you too." He stated as he quickly tossed something toward Master Denz. Denz sighed to himself as a bubble appeared around him, cutting off his aetherial abilities.

"That should hold you for a while. You should be honored, I had it special made just for you. Knowing we would encounter each other eventually." He kept a rather big grin on his face until mum shot a bullet through his skull. Leaving a massive whole where his garlean third eye was. Despite her perfect shot, he quickly healed it as if nothing happened.

"You are another problem entirely. I had all sorts of toys to keep you in check. Though now, it seems I don't need them." He smiled as he quickly warped in front of her, grasping the machine around her chest and removing the materia from it. She quickly fell to her knees as she felt pain soar through her chest.

"Well, that was uneventful. Now, let's have a look at you." He walked up to me as I remained still, studying me closely as he walked around.

"Yes, I do believe you are worthy of the life I gave you. Darkest of beings whom damned an entire world into endless void. Now bound to a perfect esper body." He quickly placed his hand upon my head and flooded my mind with images.

"Now learn whom you are! It's time you take up your destiny my dear." I placed my hand gently upon his before squeezing and crushing his hand.

"I know who I am." I stated, before smacking him backwards. He held his hand as it slowly healed.

"I am the Cloud of Darkness. Or a piece of it. But I am far more then it ever could be. I am also Senna. Someone who grew up with more love and care then I could have imagined in the lifetimes I have lived. Your Destiny for me is nothing compared to the path I have already traveled." I summoned forth my long blade made of the primal Alexanders light aether.

"My friends have worked long and hard for this day. I don't intend for you to ruin it." I stated as I prepared for a fight. The tattered armor I wore would be enough to protect me. For I was rather resilient to dark abilities, and always had been. Tapping at my linkpearl I spoke to the tower guardian.

"Start the machines. I'll end this bastard here and now. We can not allow him to come with us." I said, confident in my abiity as I looked upon the dark figure before me.

"Understood." he stated from the other side of the line. I glanced too Master Denz and mum whom were still stuck where they were at. Pouncing toward Emmy, I readied my blade to slice him in half!
