Hi! Why are some so...
It is me, the Green Mage (soon also other Viera jobs) cosplaying healer bunny working hard & fighting against the masses of damage from monsters & the lower FPS rate of her toaster ♥
Let us get straight to the point:
Why is it that people feel like edgier & saltier during this Tomestone event than before?
Is there a special bonus for tanks I don't know about? Like, for instance, they pulling whole Room #1 of Aurum Vale while staying in pools so healing is incredibly hard to keep up?
Also why do DPS people act so aggressive about WHM just using Rescue once?
Are they bored? Or hurt somewhere?
Why so hostile? What's up with them?
It's just a game! Someone got to remind them.
Questions and questions, I know. Just curious what I'm dealing with during this 'event'
Love and have a nice day o/
If people are pulling the whole first room of the Vale, then they are IDIOTS!
I don't care how geared you are, you DON'T pull everything in the first room of Aurum Vale, you will probably die and cause a wipe!
And even if you don't, you are causing a LOT of stress on the poor healer who has to try and keep you alive through ALL that.
If I saw that crap and I was healing, I would leave, immediately! No WAY I am dealing with a tank like that.
There is a REASON people hate the Vale so much and that first room is it, it is a nightmare if mistakes are made, usually by newer people who don't know better. ;p
Oh, and if people are not doing that as an all blue party, then you are doing it wrong, MUCH more efficient that way. But of course, gotta do party finder for that. :-)
Some people are aggressive, without any logical mean.
I agree with Anna, to pull the whole first room in Aurum Vale you have to be an idiot. I mean doing that with random people, if you try with your friends it is your problem.
Rescue is... anoying action. Well used it can save someone's life. Or it can break a combo. A healer rescued me on Amaurote (1st boss) while I was finishing my combo before hiding behind a comet. He moved me to another one, I still run in the one I expect and took dmg.
Ok so, in a nutshell, the tomestone events motivate people to farm older content for prizes. The goal is pretty transparently to keep players busy between patches.
It's aight mostly, except that some people really want the prizes (some are pretty rare/expensive/hard to get otherwise) BUT hate the tomestone farming required to get them - hence the rise in salt and attempts to rush (although that's always something you might run into in the Duty Finder).
That's my take at least!
Yeah, like Yoru said, it interrupts whatever rotation/cast the player was doing, which leads to a decrease in their DPS. Some players are very invested in having the highest possible DPS output, so that losing even 3 seconds (the equivalent of one GCD ability) can put a good dent in your DPS. Some people also feel insulted by Rescue, thinking the healer is assuming they didn't think to dodge/mitigate.
I'd say that ability is best used when you can voice chat to time it well.
But huh all that being said I don't want you to think I'm making excuses for hostile people. Honestly, it always saddens me how nasty people can be in-game! Wanting to run a dungeon fast and not wanting to be Rescued are things that can totally be said politely, smh. I'm sorry you had bad experiences.
Anyone that purposely pulls all the first room adds in AV is a Total DICK.
If they have the audacity to actually yell at you they are Scum.
As for rescue, meh..if anyone gets upset that I used it on them IDGAF. It's my ability, my call. If I cared enough to use it on you it means you were going to make me work harder, or cause me to be in that instance longer than need be.
To precise: I never feel insulted by rescue. In some case it can save life. The perception on the rescued player could be different though. And the surprise could make him react the wrong way (like me in my example).
Well THIS White Mage loving Blonde NEVER uses rescue. ;-)
I THINK I have it on my second set of buttons, but I actually forget if it is still on there or not. I may have taken it off in favor of another skill since it never gets used.
Hello and TY you for the replies.
I suppose I'll refrain from using Rescue in its current state it until future changes (or deletion) arrive. It feels like it incites more negativity than anything else. Besides, I wouldn't dare cast it on Melee DPS mid-combo unless necessary.
So about the AV dungeon part: Was mostly the tanks spotted who kept running straight through the first pool rather than sneaking along the left side and any aggro pulled was quickly drawn to us other people.
About the items traded for tomies:
I read some of them are rather tedious to obtain on the normal way
but lets be real: We all want some of them BUT there is still plenty of time to farm. It's a reason to be happy or glad they are doing these events, not?
I can imagine that running the same thing over and over isn't healthy for some people but HEY, that's no reason to be pissy among each other about getting 5-10 stones in the matter of 30-45 mins average, right?
Anyway, stay golden ♥
The first time I did 11 castrums and 5 sycrus towers with a sprinkling of other stuff to get what I wanted.
The second time I grinded 550 moogle stones through MSQ roulette and PVP to get what I wanted.
This time.....well, I am taking it more easy. There is no easy grinding this time, but I AM leveling MCH, so getting them mainly through the MSQ.
But I only want 250 this time, so it should be easy.
I just need 100 on my side, I should start soon though (to ensure to have time) as I'm grinding stuff in Eureka as well atm.
