I finally put my big girl pants on!
Today was the day I finally put my big girl pants on and joined a FC! It’s taken me nearly a year to pluck up the courage, my first step in getting over my anxieties (previous blog).
It has taken me ages to find a FC to approach and the new community finder did make this easier. I settled on REACH and I am so glad I did. Admittedly I hesitated with my finger over the enter button after writing my comment to them and nearly backed out, but I did it and for me this is a huge step forward.
I’m still settling in and they are very welcoming, fun and friendly.
It’s actually rather nice to have the chat pinging with comments and I think I’ve worked out discord as well!
I’m just getting used to the chatter and comments so I get to know them a bit better. My next step is to start joining in a bit more to get comfortable, feel ‘safe’ and have fun without those niggling concerns all the time. For any who suffer with anxiety challenges you will know the importance of this.
There are lots of call outs to join parties for raids etc. So my next big big leap will be explaining my dungeon phobia and going into my first dungeon or raid as part of a party instead of completely solo. I have no idea how it even works, but when I’m ready I will work it out and I’m sure they will guide me and it will be a fun and positive experience.
Baby steps and patience. Then who knows, I might just be able to face Dancing Plague after all... well...at some point! And trying to solo Whorleater Extreme is frustrating as.. ...falling off a platform in many different ways multiple times. 😂
Watch this space!
Tanking Titania is easy, but you dont have main tank it. The add phase, just remember that puck and peachblossom are tankable throughout(incl. bigger versions), while Musturdseed(the tree) is not. Keep her facing away from the party so that Divination Rune doesnt annihilate the group. Don't have to talk to anybody, you just need courage.
Socializing is baby steps, a little at a time, move forward when you feel you are ready.
Also remember, in raids and other hard stuff you DON'T have to talk, but you DO have to listen. ;-)
For ol' Levi, it's actually easy to not fall off. Watch for the splash, where he does it is where he will body slam and where you will end up. So when you see it, go to the OPPOSITE end of where it was, you'll survive it every time.
Thank you both so much for your help and advice, it is much appreciated. I will have another go at Levi tonight.
Once I’m ready I think I’m prepared as I ever will be for Titania. I just have to take that leap. You are both always so positive 😀
Then those pants aren't on yet.
😂😂😂 half way up then!
Yeah. FC was a big step towards progress.
From your last comment on your other blog: Tanks must also join in on stack markers.
Ill make an offer to you. I have an alt thats a level 80 GNB. If you would like, I could MT titania and you can observe the fight in your comfort zone. You still have to worry about add duty, but I can take Peachblossom and you can take Puck. Im wondering what kind of push you need.
Hi Minerva, thank you, a kind offer. If I grow a pair over the weekend (or before) can I give you a shout, it would be great to go in with someone I have some familiarity with that knows I’m anxious. I came very close to reaching out to the FC this evening after I plucked up the courage to go to FC house and say hi. I’m slowly getting there. I hope that in time, I’ll be raiding with the rest of them and piping up when they call out for a tank.
Quick question, do you mean us go in as undersized party or as a team to go in with others?
Welcome to the fc, let us know if you need help ^-^
A team with others. We could certainly try to duo it, but chance of survival is much higher with you being the main tank as you're a paladin and clemency is stupidly powerful. I could support you with aurora, heart of stone>Brutal Shell. It will be hard though with just us 2.
Okay, no worries. A thought it would be a team with others as higher level, but wanted to check. Yes, clemency has saved me plenty! It has been the only way I could solo some lvl 70 dungeons.
