I'm not paying for something I can't play. Fix your server problem, Square. Rolling blackouts is not a business model. Yoshi-P didn't cry on stage so you could pull this crap when Endwalker finally launched. You were reprehensibly underprepared for your own mess.

Or at least give every player extra month to play for free since we cant enter on our subscription month.. I’m sure SE is wealthy enough to give one free month playtime.. I kind of agree with Scario that we pay for something we can’t play.. So strange..
Tbh I do regret a little resubbing Final Fantasy near expansion week.

^They've compensated for unplayed time before but it wasn't early access related(and never was). As for the "delay", I suspect the 'real reason' was the fact that 2 other MMOs have updates this month(PSO2 in particular) and this was a last minute business decision to stick it to the competition.

P.S. I know, personal experience, they aren't allowing free trials to queue atm.

You are immediately kicked if the server is full, with a detailed message just to make sure know how "baggage class" you are.

Which is the non-full server? Ha, gotcha! There isn't one. Which means free trials are de facto non-functional.

All the people buying into SE's chip shortage narrative need to stop, they're lying. Maybe there's a shortage for GPUs but everything else can be found and I really doubt a big company like SE would have any problems with that. They just didn't want to spend the $$$, stop making excuses for them.

I agree with you. I select my character and choose to log but I can't. I've bought the free early access and my Deluxe expansion.
I feel this is a violation to my rights as a consumer.

Fortecael you are very wrong. Working in big data I can tell you that we are barely getting server orders that were due 9 months ago. 10k-50k sets of hardware delayed 9 months. We manage thousands of servers and have massive buying power. We have gone to sourcing from many vendors and NONE of them can get anything in a decent time frame. We are dropping hundreds of thousands of dollars up front in hopes of getting things quicker. The vendor that gets it to us the fastest gets to keep the cash.

I too bought into the Free Early Access and sat in the +4K player queues yesterday as I couldn't get in the day before that. Now today the Lobby Server Error 2002 comes up after you click on Start. You don't even have a chance to sit in line now. What a waste of money for early access.

But I'm not cancelling my sub over it. This is what expansion rollout is like. Really, really long lines and wait times. Never getting a chance to log in though is not cool and NOT what I paid for.

Laughing at all the people saying they are getting ripped off. #1 No you did not pay for early access, The price was the same regardless and everyone that bought EW got it. #2 They already announced they are giving everyone 7 days of free sub time for compensation. #3 They have been warning us for a few months now that the login que's at release, which hasn't even happened yet, was going to be long. #4 Yes the hardware shortage is a real thing.

And no it's not about money, they were offering above market value and still couldn't get servers. $5 IF you get 2002 just restart your launcher and try again until you get into the que. But then actually pay attention, if you get 2002 while in que you can log back in and still retain your place in the que. I have the 2002 error hit me when i was at 419 in que, then proceeded to get 2002 and launcher crash 6 times in a row but still on 7th try, I got right back into the que at 419.

It's all well granting people 7 days free sub play, but if you can't log in to utilise those 7 days doesn't it kind of defeat the point?

In addition Synja, you clearly got quite lucky. Yesterday I encountered the same error twice: the first time I managed to retain my place in queue, however; the second time I was sent to the back of the line.

I cancelled mine too, but not because I'm particularly mad, we knew this would happen. But at queues of 8200 when I get home from work, I can not even hope to log on at any time, so it's pointless paying the subscription.

I'll just wait until the storm subsides and they either get more servers, or the queue times allow me to play again and then re-subscribe. The game is not going away, so I'll just play in a month or two.

Hey! Give them a break! They are doing all they can to help! Sure, the Servers are a little crowded, but it's not their fault! And if some dude was going to blame them for it, then maybe they shouldn't play online games.

@Synja Ethical business practice should be: if you cannot provide the product or service, you don't take the $. They knew months ahead what the projections for release/prerelease were, excuses and apologies aren't acceptable. As a business owner, if I release a product that doesn't work, I issue a refund, not say "Sorry" and leave the customer hanging. At the very least the game time for renewed subscriptions and refunds for the expansion should be given to those who wish it.

Instead of waiting in a queue that is nearing 5k, I've decided to do some math.

On the 15 of 24 US servers I was personally able to test the queue, the average queue is currently 3,924.

That is 94,197 customers currently waiting to play the Final Fantasy 14, just on US servers mind you.

That's 94k people waiting in line, giving SE $1,318,758 per month.

Weird .. I've gotten in no problem every day since it came out. Yeah there' a que so what. They fixed the 2002 errors on their end, I never get them anymore since the last patch. So if you're getting them now. it's your crappy internet, don't blame them. They have given 21 days of free playtime at this point. Those saying the shortage isn't real, you're wrong. Yeah cares and phones are being sold, because they bought up alll the chips when they knew a shortage was coming.

You know, if you login then world visit, you'll only deal with the login queue of the world you visited right? You're on Gilgamesh, one of the most packed worlds for Aether. So the queue for that world is indeed going to be hefty. Instead, login in the morning and world visit over to Siren or Adam. Not as bad of a queue on those in comparison.
