Stormblood Trials ~ The Four Lords

Public

Halloween costume! I wore this for like 15 minutes then I was over it. Haha. But more importantly for me is my new hurr. My head canon is Jiyan nearly shaved all her hair off to grieve for Haurchefant, which made her hair go lighter. Now as time passes, it's grown longer, and slightly darker. Not sure if I will go full dark again. Jiyan's eyes have also changed a bit to signify she's become a bit more happy and stable again. I think she'll be a bit stronger next time tragedy strikes. Hopefully ... oh hell, nah she'll be a blubbering mess. I'm still compiling my thoughts on Stormblood honestly. There's so much character arcs in it that I appreciate, it needs its own entry.

I'm hopping around the content in Stormblood. We cleared it to the end which had the funnest dungeon for me to date. I wish I could take pictures AS things are happening but I can't multitask that way ... yet. And I already dipped my toe into Shadowbringers, but I wanted to go back to Stormblood and indulge in more of the world/content. Especially the trials.

I didn't have any expectations for this trial series, but I really enjoyed myself. All the characters were entertaining, I loved the little minions and their side dialogs in the temple. Now it makes me want to collect them all now that I have this context of conversing with them through this quest.

I found the character designs gorgeous and the trial fights were fun and entertaining. I also liked meeting another Warrior of Light from the past. Tenzen oppa, hehe. I'm curious to see if they will bring him in other content. But prolly it won't happen. I just like his look and thought they put in a lot of detail in him to only use him so sparingly. But I appreciate the level of details in the whole thing.

The theme in the story kinda felt like it was giving a taste to what's to come with Shadowbringers. In that it spoke of balancing the energies within ourselves. Like light and dark can co-exist, it's just when one side becomes too emphasized, it can overpower in a bad way. The WoL's role here was to help excise that toxic energy out with near-surgical precision.

Tataru and Soroban's involvement in this was a joy. I'm definitely going to repeat it just because I wasn't paying too much attention to her antics in some instances, but what I caught was definitely peculiar.

I was surprised we didn't fight the big bad guy in the end but it seemed fitting that the 4 lords took care of that part and I was just there for moral support.
