You know it: my brain works on
reverse.
Its neurons play
hide’n’seek during daytime, then they stumble upon each other at night and it goes
bullshit mode.
Why am I telling this? Why, because I came up with
yet another stupid thought, of course. Are you ready to read about it? But of course you aren’t, it’s too silly to even think about it.
Regardless, I’ll tell anyway.
So, you probably already know I had to
level up Mitran to be omni90 on him, too, of late, right? What you don’t know is that I passed the last week mostly on
Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis because some friends of mine played with me. Unfortunately, they didn’t stick around much, so I went ahead and
finished the main story just yesterday, which means that, from now on, I’ll be logging on there just to
do dailies in order to advance the
Season Mission Pass level, or when the others want to play together and farm a bit of PSE Bursts.
This means
I’ll be focused on Mitran’s leveling full-time once again, which means
roulettes and Trusts, babe!
At the same time, though, I also should get back at practicing
drawing doodling: as mentioned in
one of my previous Blogs, I got back to one of the passions of mine, but it’s been a while since I did anything, like 2 weeks if I remember correctly. The last time I drew anything was for a “challenge” with my friend
Celestine, although I’m still waiting for both her drawings and her take at coloring mine… Yes, the challenge is a “drawing trade”, where we draw something and let the other color our sketch. As of now, in fact, I’m more adept at sketching than coloring, and she’s on reverse. So, in order to have fun together and practice, we decided to get this “challenge” a go. This is my “entry”:
Yes, these are supposed to be our Warriors of Light.
It wasn’t mandatory, I decided to go for them since FF XIV is the thing that glued us, so I thought it was fitting.Back on the idea: Mitran now has a Job for each role endgame-ready, but physical ranged DPS. His favorite of the three is
Machinist (*cries in 169 ping*), so it’s the next candidate to level up. Alas, it’s a DPS, and we know what it means:
long queues (well,
relatively long, fortunately, NA servers are way more populated than EU’s, so even the longest of waits usually doesn’t last more than 15 minutes).
How to fill such waiting? Why,
crafting and gathering, of course!
Or so every sane person would say.
But do I look like a normal guy to you? Of course I’m not!
1:37 AM, my brain goes brr and elaborates the nonsense:
«What if I take two birds with a stone, doing like I did back then while drawing Enesha for the project that never actually finished as it should?».
I did most of the drawing back then
while waiting for queues to pop, since I still had some Jobs to level up, most of them being DPS. And so I decided to
do the same from now on until I reached level 90 for all DoW and DoM on both Mitran
and Noloic. It’s gonna take quite a while, I know. And after I finished, there’ll (hopefully) be Alis too to create and level up… More roulettes, more practice!
But
it’s not over! Ooh, no, of course it isn’t.
Since it’s kinda easy to do sketches at heart’s will, I decided to put some spice into my practice, some sort of guideline not decided by yourself truly, but purely by randomness: each day, whenever I start rouletting,
I choose, at random, a character and a word, and try to draw that character using the word as the focus of it.
The most cultured artists among the readers are probably gonna ask themselves: «Wait, this sounds remotely familiar to
Inktober, doesn’t it?», to which I answer with: «Bingo!».
The idea indeed is quite like Inktober, hence why I called it
Inklette (yes, I’m not very imaginative, why do you ask?).
But
there’s more!
Since I don’t only need practice on sketching, but
coloring, the most, I decided to
alternate weeks: I first do sketches based on the chosen combo, then, the week after, I don’t sketch, but instead
color the previous week’s sketches in order.
Sounds fun, doesn’t it? No? Ok, yes, maybe I’m the only one finding it fun. But, hey, it’s still practice, I suppose.
This said, I’m happy to announce I almost hit
LV88 with MCH today (I’m gonna level it to almost 89 for sure tomorrow, since Main Scenario and Alliance Raid roulettes are left, and I turned in my Wondrous Tails with WHM, having it at LV89 and 83% EXP (let’s consider it LV90 already) now
(of course 0 lines, what did you expect?).
Which means I indeed started my Inklette:
Drawing Hylires has proved more difficult than expected, I won’t lie, mostly because, though, I didn’t actually drew her more than once or twice, and never in her 20s instead of 15, so I had to visualize her growth too.
This is my first drawing of hers back in.. 2012? 2013? something like that, and also the only one I could find. Looking at a couple details in this picture, too, made me think I changed the story quite a bit since then.
As usual, I’m not myself’s judge, so I can’t really tell if I improved at all, especially in this situation. So this is it for the day.
Tomorrow’s combo is…
Abe x
allocation!
🤨
Ok
