I've enjoyed my time with bard, but I feel as though it was an easy out for me. It is a pretty simple job to play, and I should be trying to challenge myself to a more personally rewarding job.
Maybe I'm feeling this way because I use to be a monk, and personal DPS and glory was mine to achieve. But I don't want to play monk, I needed to level it because I have 3 monk retainers.
Then again, does it really matter which job I main? I don't run extremes or savages, I only gear to keep up with the patches.
The only reason this bothers me is it was the cause of me rarely playing during stormblood. Not that taking a break isn't a good thing, I just don't want to resent running content to gear up for patches.
An odd conundrum.
Bard is considered the hardest of the ranged dps jobs but none of the ranged jobs will be on the level of complexity of melee jobs. They are all rather easy rotations, well expect for bard.
See, this is why I will never understand why people rush instead of taking it slow, now you have nothing to do so dump the game for another upteen months until most of the patches are out, then come back.
