The frosted glass windows do little to keep the chill winds from finding ways to create a constant draft in my room. The Forgotten Knight may be the best place to get a meal, ale and a bed in Ishgard, but it's still quite uncomfortable for those of us who grew up in the Twelveswood. I have become fond of the hearth and spend much Gil on extra firewood to keep it roaring.
Nights like tonight, with a strong wind sending snow and ice crystals at my window with a rhythmic tapping are the perfect reason to set my stool close to the fire and hide under the massive wool blankets that came with the room. The tea served in this Inn is quite extraordinary, with bone-warming qualities that help to prepare one for bed, even in these conditions.
My adventures have taken me many places in the past few months since arriving in Ishgard, from the Chocobo Forest to floating mountains in the Churning Mists. The scenery varies much, but there are two things that are constantly present; cold wind and dragons. Honestly, I prefer the dragons. At least you can put an end to them.
My eyes grow tired. In the morning I shall continue my journey across this land. Until then, I shall enjoy the comfort of this fire.
