"And you wonder why you haven't cleared yet." ep.3
That's right lodestone fam, your fat boi panda is back. Well not a whole lot but I do find time to randomly bump around PF. I did get the go ahead to static raid two nights a week from the Mrs. Panda. I also at times when the baby panda is asleep randomly join PF runs.
So here I am, with limited stories but PF is so bad this time around it doesn't take long to come up with content.
And you wonder why you haven't cleared Ramuh…
This fight has 4 spots in the fight that if anyone messes up its a wipe. And boy oh boy do we find ways to screw up one of these 4 mechanics every time.
First one is Fury 14. Spears drop down from the sky and each person is assigned one. The melee uptime strat has the positions based on which direction Ramuh dashes to, most pugs use true north. Although I find this gross missing the extra 2 gcd's for the sake of simplicity in PF I usually don't push the issue. But there is always that one person that didn't grab a orb or wasn't properly positioned so they could get knocked into their pole. Or on the off chance that everyone has done all of that correctly then its the tank who screws up and hits something during the duty action and Ramuh super charges and knocks everyone off the arena. For the last two weeks on the weekend I have tried to 2 chest clear this fight and 6 plus parties later I have been unsuccessful. I have had to settle for 0 chest runs in order to get my books. I have 4 clears and not a single piece of loot this tier. Your fat boi is a depressed boi. Why is this mechanic so damn hard.
The other mechanic is chain lighting which is basically like ROT. There are two strats for this. One is groups of 3, 2 dps and 1 healer per group. And we pass the lighting to the closest person. If you are to close it kills the person passing. To far away it might jump to another person. The good news about this strat is the fact melee can easily do positionals, the negative side is its a lot of movement for both ranged and if they are casters its a bit of a pain.
The easiest so brain dead strat is the circle strat. You position the healers across from each other since chain starts on both of those. Everyone stands in a clock spot and you pass in a direction. You really have to be a complete moron to mess this up. But yet everyday someone does. I don't understand it fam... If you can't do this mechanic what you need to do is go to your game's saved data and just uninstall it. That's right you need to uninstall the game. I'm not holding back here, if you are not capable of standing in a circle and taking one step towards a person to grab and another step away to pass you really need to rethink the game you are playing. I heard Animal Crossing is brain dead, maybe you should go try that game instead.
Both 14 and chain happen twice in this fight. So that is 4 times one person can just crap on 5-10 minutes of your time. It's been rough people, really rough.
You got me down and depressed. Good news I have a static trial this week with some friends. A casual 6 hours a week of raiding. Hopefully I can eventually clear the tier. But for now PF has me scared...
Come with Mahdi and I sometime for ruby ex runs >_> could be fun!
I swear I'm cursed, everytime I join a [Duty Completion] for E5S (I haven't got my first clear yet), after 1 person messes up and we wipe, everyone leaves.
Every. Single. Time.
I don't think I'll ever be able to clear fulmination at this rate...
Oh panda delete, that must explain why even Eden normal is full of um....idiots at times. It seems those fights bring out the WORST in people! ;p
Yeah, for some people FFXIV is not a game anymore. Apparently it floated over my head during my total playtime that FFXIV is actually 'an eSports'.
(PF players be like 'Dare to wipe once and *beep* [insert corona related insult]')
I still wonder how you, uh, 'normal people' out there (cuz apparently I am -not-)
can attempt this Savage stuff, with those occassional saltmines and perfectionists running around.
Why must having a Savage static (or similar) be a requirement to avoid this? >_>
Ryoko, I suggest going for 0-1 chest clear party.
There are experienced people, as well as those looking for more practice or to score high on FFLogs, and they will join such parties. It's not guaranteed to clear, but your chances of success may be higher, at least.
[Duty Completion] blocks people who have cleared for the week from joining, so experienced raiders will not be able to help.
