So I was able to hit 15 with both crafting profession in my starting city. My next goal is to finish getting botany and the remaining DoW (conjurer, archer) to 15 as well. I should then be good to continue on with the story. It appears my next mission will open up the airship, allowing me to visit the other cities of Eorzea, and some of my other friends.
This will open up the next series of jobs to train up on. My goal is to get everything to 15 to get a good feel, and decided what I want to 'major' in. I believe my first 50 will be a gathering profession to secure a steady income of gil from raw materials and assist in supporting whatever crafting profession(s) I choose. I am leaning on Blacksmith, Leatherworking, and Weaver. I am really not in a hurry to level a DoW. I prefer to have better gear in party scenarios, which crafting will enable through making it myself or using the incoming gil from items that are sold to purchase great gear..
I think once I get the remaining jobs to 15, I will then turn my attention back to the story so I can unlock retainer, chocobo, and Grand Company.
Nice! That's a good plan. I planned to do the same when I first started playing.... I wanted to get a feel for everything but kinda got really into Archer then Bard. It's super fun and I love it.
My next goal is to push my Botanist to 50 and possibly Miner as well. I enjoy those 2 and hope to get more into crafting soon too.
Good luck and have fun! =)
I've had a lot of fun with archer. Being able to kite and fire on the run is a lot of fun. I am playing on ps3, and getting used to the D-pad is a bit tricky. (specifically off targeting). I will probably move back to PC, but my computer is a beater, leftover from the old days of 11 (pre-abysea or whatever its called).
Gathering can be a bit redundant, but I'm cheap and like to hunt down my own mats. :D.
Good luck and have fun too!
Yep you will continue to love archer lol. It just gets better and better in my opinion!
I've had the game since 1.0 but stopped playing after a short time. I have it for ps3 and PC. At first I was more into playing on ps3, but have since moved to PC full-time. I use my PS3 controller to play... =)
Gathering can be a bit redundant but for some reason I really like it.
