Change of Orders: Binding Coil
The time for our raid on the Binding Coil of Bahamut approaches. Yesterday I wrote to you that we were going in with 5 warriors instead of the preferred 8 (1 tank, 2 healers, 2 DPS). This has changed.
Before the day was over yesterday, Dusk and I met and recruited two more to our party. Our numbers are now 2 tanks, 2 healers, 3 DPS. I am eternally greatful to our new friends, and to the party as a whole. Hope has grown even more within our ranks.
I will write again should we succeed. You know will know otherwise if I do not.
Ugh, I just realized you are on Aether. I should have asked what time you were doing the run to see if I could have come and helped.
You are probably doing it at night though and I work tonight, so am usually in bed by 7pm to prepare for the shift.
Anyway, good luck with it, I am curious to know the results.
Oh! I really appreciate it! We have not started, it is planned for 8pm PST. We are only doing the binding coil today, so maybe the next one?
All the cool people I meet in game are Faerie server. I’m starting to think that is where it’s really at lol
Faerie IS the best! :P I hope you did well.
We can see if I can join the next one. It will be those spheres, which is not as hard as the 1st one.
We did really well until the boss in turn 5. Got wiped with a wind blast, after the return attack, that sent us to the fire walls for KO. We are trying the boss and possibly the second coil turns tomorrow at the same time.
Wait, so you were able to go through 5 coil instances synced? Or am I reading that wrong and that was boss phases?
If you DID make it to the 5th one, Twintania is very, very, VERY hard. It took us over 4 weeks of practice at MINE level to beat her.
Tomorrow night is my Coils MINE static so I wouldn't be free. We are all praying we finally clear Nael.
We did it all synced. Only got wiped once in the turn with the orbs, but I managed to keep the boss at bay while they raised our tanks the second try. Funnily we wiped on that turn after disabling echo for it lol.
We could get through the first phase of Twintania and the twin serpents fairly easily after a couple of tries. There were occasional deaths by dive bombs, of course. It’s the attack after the electric return that gets us dead each time. Turn 5 is a beast, and I hear 9 is insane. >.<
For clarity, we managed to have an 8 person party for some of it and ran 3-5 with 7 people. We only stopped until tomorrow because people needed to sleep or go to work. We will take on Twintania again tomorrow fresh and ready. I hear this boss returns in an even harder version later? I don’t think I am looking forward to that.
Our goal is to beat it synced because it’s such a challenge.
Wow, good job. how long did that all take? I guess you had the Echo helping and Ilevel to help with damage taken, but still. You were probably able to skip some mechanics too.
Phase 4 and 5 of Twintania are VERY hard. You need to know what to do for cyclones and how to do the adds properly. Phase 5, you need to know how to handle getting marked so you don't kill everyone. ;p
Yes, Nael makes people cry uncle, the coordination the party has to do in that to get the mechanics right is insane.
As for the others, 6 is not that bad once you know how to bait the debuffs. 7 is Melusine, who is a bitch if you don't handle the adds and gazes correctly. 8 is not hard, and 9 of course is Nael, who will make you say, HOW do people DO this one at MINE level? ;-)
It actually didn’t take long to get through turns 1-4 (1hr?). We silenced echo after turn 1, but we lost a party member on 4, so we turned it back on just in case. We party wiped once in turn 2 and that was it.
Turn 5 is where we wiped a few times and echo wasn’t making much of a difference. I’m sure we can win if we can get passed that first wind blast.
We managed to do OKAY on avoiding killing each other with the dive bomb targeted attacks (there were a couple of tries where we didn’t)
Nael sounds like a feat, especially when some of us are going in semi-blind, though that’s half the fun to me—learning as I fight & fail. There’s an excitement when learning the phases and timing, albeit someone else always comes up with a better tactic than me online lol
The phases for turn 5 are interesting and FUN, as I don’t normally have to worry a whole lot about phases. As a BLM I usually just stand aside and make things go boom, I don’t need to pull out my bag of tactics often lol.
