Steelgarde | Adventuring Free Company | Storyline focused RP

Steelgarde is a concept-heavy, story-focused roleplay group seeking enthusiastic and proactive roleplayers who are interested in collaborating to create engaging narratives. We operate as an adventuring Free Company based in Ishgard run by two former members of the Knights Dragoon. Our goal is to offer a space for adventurers and non-combatants alike to strive to do good and help others.

While based in Ishgard, we do take characters from different walks of life and skill in combat is not a requirement for joining. Healers, staff or those who are in need of a safe haven are welcome in our halls.

Steelgarde offers variety in terms of narrative tone and much of our work takes us all over Eorzea and beyond. We deal in slow-burn storylines, social roleplay revolving around comradery and friendship, investigations, hunts, missions and even volunteer and charity work. This is a space for character-driven stories, and long term connections.

What to expect:

- A lore friendly setting with room for some lore bend
- A lore compendium for all of Steelgarde's lore to date. Think factions, enemies and allies, storylines and NPCs!
- A mix of roleplay types and regular roleplay events including:
- Long term storylines and narratives; both FC related and personal
- Adventures and travel
- Missions, bounties and humanitarian efforts
- Social gatherings, including a monthly open world social event at the Forgotten Knight.
- Discord roleplay, for those interested. Including spaces for letters, noticeboard posts, and other pieces of writing you might want to share.
- A mix of EU and US friendly event times
- An in house RP system designed by one of our own
- A FC home open for RP with private rooms available
- A Discord server for socialisation and coordination of events
- Casual in-game content, including maps, glam farms etc
- Occasional OOC events e.g. movie and game nights

What we're looking for:

Steelgarde is looking for proactive and enthusiastic roleplayers who take their writing seriously, and are interested in our concept and storylines. We ask that our roleplayers put themselves forward to drive the stories they want to tell. Newcomers to roleplay are welcome!

OOC we're looking members who are fun and relaxed, but value communication and consent in roleplay and are considerate of others.

Members Must Be 21+:

This is a 21+ community and we delve into mature and dark themes on occasion during the course of our roleplay. Minors are not permitted in this space.

Character Concepts:

We're looking for characters that would suit an average free company in the lore of XIV i.e. those with mid/low tier power levels and renown. Characters with unlikely origins, biographies, relationships or other circumstances would likely not be a good fit for us, though we will approach this on a case by case basis e.g. Characters with power levels approaching Primals, the Warrior of Light or Voidsent, or characters with ties to central bodies of the MSQ (Scions of the Seventh Dawn etc, Reflections etc.)

MSQ Progression:

Steelgarde operates in a Heavensward zone and in addition, has characters and storylines that delve into the lore of some of the later expansions. With this in mind, we ask that any applicants have played through and have an understanding of the lore up until Stormblood at a minimum.

How to join:

In order to keep a laidback environment and ensure our numbers remain manageable, we are selective in our membership, as we know our free company is not the perfect fit for everyone and vice-versa. We are looking for roleplayers with a similar focus, who we feel will complement each other and be comfortable in our free company.

Our application process consists of a brief general application through our either or discord or RPhub, we might also ask a few additional questions and are happy to answer any you might have. Once the general application is over, then we a short RP application to get your character situated with the free company.

FC Membership Not Required:

You do not have to be an official member of the Steelgarde Free Company IC or OOC to join us. We do have a Cross World Linkshell for those interested in our events who are located on other worlds, and friends and allies to Steelgarde IC are welcome!
