Preparation

If you have been invited to attend a Ceremony of Eternal Bonding, ensure that you have made the necessary preparations and arrive at the venue promptly on the day.

Step 1Invitations

To attend a ceremony, you must receive an invitation from the couple to be joined.

This invitation must be in your inventory for you to be granted access to the venue.

The commencement time and other basic information may be reviewed by examining the text of the invitation.

However, it is recommended that you consult the couple to be joined for further details about the events of the day.

Step 2Choosing Attire

While there is no official dress code to be allowed admittance to the chapel, guests are encouraged to dress up for the occasion.

Suitably special attire can be purchased from Rianne on the Steps of Nald in Ul'dah.

On the Day

Please arrive at the venue promptly on the date and time listed on your invitation to ensure you are able to witness the ceremony.

Step 1Entering the Venue

With your invitation on your person, speak with Etoinelle in the Sanctum of the Twelve.

Guest Checklist

My invitation is in my inventory.I have arrived at the correct time.

You will be granted entry to the chapel when the scheduled time arrives.

Step 2Awaiting Commencement

Upon declaring yourself to Etoinelle, you will be shown to a room to await the ceremony's commencement. You may use this time to change your outfit should you so wish.

When the couple has completed preparations, guests will be directed to the main hall, and the ceremony will begin.

The ceremony proper commences 40 minutes (Earth time) after doors open, or earlier at the hosting couple's discretion.

The ceremony will require a maximum of two hours (Earth time) from start to finish.

Step 3The Ceremony

Celebrate the joyful bond of the newly joined couple with your fellow guests!

As soon as the couple is ready, all guests are automatically ushered to the main hall.

Important Information

Caution

Should the ceremony finish early, guests may no longer re-enter the venue.
Once all guests have arrived and any necessary wardrobe changes have been made, you may help to expedite the proceedings by communicating your readiness to the couple.
As a guest, you may appear in cutscenes during the course of the ceremony.
Please ensure that your appearance is as you desire ahead of time.

Ceremony Proceedings

The ceremony will proceed as follows:

The couple make their entrance.
An address is given to guests in attendance.
The blessing and exchange of rings.

The reception will begin─during which time you can mingle with the other guests and the newly joined couple.

Guests are also free to move about the venue during the proceedings.

Postponement

The ceremony may be postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

As the hosts will be required to reschedule their ceremony and send out a new set of invitations, please wait to hear word from them regarding a new date and time.

Once postponement is confirmed, old invitations cease to be valid and may be disposed of at your discretion.

The date and time of the rescheduled ceremony will be shown in the description of your new invitation.
