• Regarding Season 1 of Crucible Rankings

  Since the release of beastmaster, we've seen many players enjoying the new limited job and tackling its challenges. That said, we have also received considerable feedback on beastmaster's combat balance, as well as reports of issues with certain gameplay mechanics, which we are working to address.
  
  If rankings were to begin under these conditions, it would be difficult to determine whether the results reflect the intended balance of the job and its mechanics, impacting the fairness of the ranking process.
  
  For these reasons, we have made the difficult decision of postponing the start of Crucible Rankings.
  
  We are working to resolve issues and address feedback as a top priority, and an announcement will be made when a date for the start of Season 1 rankings has been decided.
  
  * Please be advised that Crucible Ranking scores will remain unavailable in-game until a starting date has been decided.

• Rolling Out Same-region Player Matching for the Japan Data Center!

  As announced at Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin, starting Tuesday, October 13, 2026, following the 24 hour maintenance period on Monday, October 12, same-region player matching will be available for the Japan data center.
  
  Matchmaking and party recruitment have thus far been limited to players on the same logical data center. However, with the introduction of same-region player matching, the scope will expand to cover all those on the same physical data center. This means that all players within the same physical data center will be eligible for matchmaking and party recruitment, regardless of their current world.
  
  Once same-region player matching has been confirmed to operate stably on the Japan data center, it will be rolled out in turn to other data centers.
  
  This announcement will outline the purpose and impact of same-region player matching.

  FFXIV will be attending Tokyo Game Show 2026, which begins on Thursday, September 17 at Makuhari Messe! This year, we’ll have a large screen playing videos including the Evercold trailer revealed at Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin, and a Meet & Greet featuring Moogle and Alpha.
  
  Visitors to the booth will also receive a special bag featuring both FINAL FANTASY VII REVELATION and FFXIV.
  
  We will also have an early release of new FFXIV merchandise at the venue’s Square Enix Shop, so be sure to stop by!

• Moogle Treasure Trove - The First Hunt for Astronomy Commences September 9!

  It gives us great pleasure to announce the return of the Moogle Treasure Trove starting Wednesday, September 9, 2026!
  
  This Moogle Treasure Trove will be a special edition to celebrate the upcoming release of Evercold, taking part across two installments and with an even more exciting range of items, including a special reward: an uolon horn!
  

  

  As well as bestowing irregular tomestones as usual, the First Hunt for Astronomy will also reward those who complete minimog and ultimog challenges with a unique item required to obtain the uolon horn. Details can be found on the special site below.
  
  The First Hunt for Astronomy and the Second Hunt for Astronomy, to be held at a later date, will feature a different lineup of items and different tomestones required for exchange. However, please note that the uolon horn will be available in the Second Hunt as well.

• Regarding Subscription Fees for the Nintendo Switch 2 Version

  The free subscription period for the full version of FINAL FANTASY XIV on Nintendo Switch™ 2, introduced to help ensure server stability, will end on Monday, September 7 at 11:59 p.m. in each region.
  
  Accordingly, the 30-day free play period granted when registering the Starter Edition or Complete Edition will begin starting Tuesday, September 8. Once this 30-day free play period has elapsed, a subscription fee will be required to continue playing.
  
  Please note that you can continue playing the Free Trial free of charge.
