Hunt Commands and Macros

Public
Hunts are some of my favorite content in the game! I love the sight of people flying into a spot with their mounts, and melting down a big baddie together with a huge group of people. It's been a great way for me to make friends and to see server regulars on Mateus.

Because we're a smaller server, using hunt encounter and relay macros is a great way to spread information. It's also way faster if you are in multiple hunt linkshells!

Let me explain a few useful commands, and then I'll share my personal macros:

* <pos> will relay to the chat your current position, marked on a map.
* <t> will relay the name of your current target.
* <flag> will relay the coordinates of where your map marker is.
* /sh is a chat command that will send your message to the entire map. This is useful when asking for party invitations for a hunt.
* /l# is a quick chat command to a given linkshell, where # is the number of the linkshell.

With this in mind, the encounter macros are used when you are at the hunt and are actively targeting the hunt monster. Relay macros are used once you click on someone's <pos> or <flag> of a hunt, so you can further spread the word. Feel free to adjust based on the number of hunt linkshells you are a part of. I'm personally in 7.

You can quickly check what rank hunts are using this wiki page. Over time you'll remember the ranks of a hunt just from the name! The macros might show up as blocks here, but if you copy and paste them in-game they should appear with a box letter!

A RANK ENCOUNTER MACRO -- Macro Icon set to Black "1":

/l1  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l2  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l3  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l4  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l5  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l6  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l7  Rank || <t> <pos>
/sh  Rank || <t> <pos>
/p  Rank || <t> <pos>

A RANK RELAY MACRO -- Macro Icon set to Black "2":

/l1 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l2 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l3 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l4 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l5 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l6 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l7 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/p RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/sh RELAY  Rank || <flag>

S RANK ENCOUNTER MACRO -- Macro Icon set to Gold "1":

/l1  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l2  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l3  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l4  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l5  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l6  Rank || <t> <pos>
/l7  Rank || <t> <pos>
/p  Rank || <t> <pos>
/sh  Rank || <t> <pos>

S RANK RELAY MACRO -- Macro Icon set to Gold "2":

/l1 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l2 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l3 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l4 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l5 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l6 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/l7 RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/p RELAY  Rank || <flag>
/sh RELAY  Rank || <flag>

Of course, for areas that have instances -- such as The Lochs currently -- you will need to have separate macros for each given instance. You can personalize these macros as you like, but the basic concept is there. Some people also find it helpful to do a "Target is pulled/dead!" macro, and to macro for Special FATES such as Odin or Ixion, as well.

In the future, I'll make more blog posts about other aspects of hunts. Happy hunting!

tyvm exatly what I need

I find this macro helpful for the large hunt trains where frame rates tend to drop:

/bfx self off
/bfx party off
/bfx other off

--

You can have another macro to enable effects after:

/bfx self all
/bfx party all
/bfx other all

or

/bfx self simple
/bfx party simple
/bfx other simple

or any mix of them depending on your preference.
