First 30 days after Free Trial FFXIV
Before my free trial ended the complete edition was on sale recently so I took the plunge and got it. First of all what impressed me was the performance. I run on max settings and I guess being out for so long is the reason it runs so smoothly with little to no lag detectable.
Secondly as seen in the above picture guess this speaks well of a game when a solo player can "neglect" the main story and still have enough content to do for over a month.
Thirdly For any soloist reading this 15k for your own free company is completely worth it although finding 3 people who will agree to just sign it till it is formed and then leave is a lot more time consuming that it sounds at least for me .
The one pet peeve I had was as a new player the amount I was getting harassed by random unwanted intrusive FC invites and tells was extremely frustrating.
At least to me It would seem logical and common sense that if someone wanted to be in a FC they would be actively searching for one. Its seem though that a great many people however are completely oblivious to that fact.
One of the best parts of this game in my experience is you really don't need to be in FC for progression or "assistance" and the DEVS were wise enough to create a MMO that is enjoyable for people who enjoy soloing and given option for people who want to be in a group.
I wish more MMO devs would follow their example.
For the reasons I stated in the blog and in the picture attached of what I have been able to accomplish Completely SOLO (other than dungeons and public FATES) I have give the devs a huge congrats for actually making one of the Best MMOs I have ever played up to this point and I don't see that changing in the future.
Though you can 'neglect' the MSQ for a while and get some things done like crafting, the game pretty much revolves around the MSQ and basic features of the game are locked behind the story until you progress.
The game IS quite solo friendly in a lot of cases and aside from instances, you can solo your way through it and to 80 if you want. You are going to find though, it is QUITE painful to do dungeons and trials with pickup groups, especially as a DPS with VERY long queue times.
TY for the comment I am seeing that I am doing the MDQ now . All the pug dungeons I have done so far have gone smoothly as for que times I haven't really noticed I think the most the timer has is 15-20 min I don't really notice because i just join and go work on something else till it activates.
it is nice so see a new players look at the game. I've been here so long i often forget what is it like to be starting at the beginning. i do hope you keep play and keep have fun. also Flare i may not be super knowledgeable but as we have the same home server if you need help or have questions feel free to look me and ask. and if it's haven't been said welcome to ffxiv.
I really do appreciate it thank you. I am really impatient when I want to know something and end up doing a google search at the time I want to know something but if that ever fails me I will let you know.
Glad you are enjoying your adventure. My husband is doing fine without being in an FC at the moment, though he was in one in the past. No one has issued him an invite yet, but he doesn't mind one bit. Enjoy the journey!
TY for the comment your husband is very lucky with the lack of invites. Hope you are both enyouing yourself.
