First 60 days after Free Trial FFXIV

Public
HI :)

This is my 60-day update. As you can see, I did a bit better on the MSQ I am in Dragon Song now and have made more progress on my crafting and gathering. Still having fun just wish that I did not have to do a forced dungeon for every major event not that it's not game breaking just annoying at times to have to wait for it to pop form duty finder.

I am over geared in the overworld right now and it's a lot of fun. Level sync is a bit of a buzz kill. It really makes leveling and gearing irrelevant it's not like the general content is harder but you also lose all the cool abilities you have obtained in anything other than level contented or overworld.

IMO it should only scale up not down. I find a game is more enjoyable when you are over geared it's a lot more fun you can Just go around smashing thing and not having to worry about health or "mechanics".

As for the high-level content dev's in general don't seem to get that "Challenge + Mechanics" does NOT = fun for every player .

Sure, some people think fighting a boss on extream hardcore nightmare mode while dodging a bunch of mechanics may be "fulfilling" and "fun " for them.

You also have to recognize that for some some it's just waste of time, too much effort and a reason to ignore the content and /or leave the game similar to forced group content.

Difficulty should not = better rewards for this reason it's just another version of forced content .

Difficulty should be an "optional" "enjoyment choice" yet yield the same rewards for everyone regardless of that choice.

Risk/effort should not be a deciding factor of such in a video game.

Enjoying the squadron system with my Bard have found it more enjoyable and efficient that some groups . I like the way they have done the ai teammates and have completed all available dungeons up to 50 at least one with them.

Crafting is getting a bit annoying with the mats all being hidden / hard to get and locked behind timers . If anything, I think it could use a nerf by taking way the timers and getting rid of the shards/ crystals. It would also make things more accessible for the average player and reduce the need for people to interact with the market place which I think makes the monetarists and Ferengi look downright charitable in a lot of cases.

My personal FC has reached level 5 and I have access to Company action now. The fact the fact taht i am making good progression on it just playing the game really adds to the point how irritating the people who bug all the new players with random tells and invites are.

I have been a part of "FC" in other games and honestly if someone needs help with something that actually needs multiple players like dungeons or some bosses, I have no problem I'm usually the first to offer my help. it's when people beg and try to mooch money / gear / whatever and ask for help with simple things they could do themselves with some effort I find annoying

Which I'm my personal experience is the majority of the game so far other than the "forced" content there is nothing in this game that really requires the " help" or "benefits" of a FC. Which I give major kudos to the Developers in game design. Now if they could just let your squad do all the "forced content" that would be awesome.

the people who want to group for social reasons could the people who don't want to don't.'

Overall, though still enjoying the story and the game. See you next month 🙂 Have Fun Kupo!
