Self-Intro: Eorzea(2) No Japanese?! 日本語なし?!
Hi, it's Sid.違うシドじゃねーか！
I thought I might mix things up a bit and write in English first today and rewrite it in Japanese afterwards. The reasoning will be translated into Japanese next time. Japanese speakers, feel free to try and challenge yourselves and read the English first!
I’ll also upload it tagged as English for a change. Japanese people searching for Japanese blog entries won’t find it, but maybe someone who searches for English will find it instead? I’ll see how it goes just this once.
Last time I wrote about how I created my character and this time I’ll write about what I’ve actually been doing in Eorzea.
Since I started with a free trial, I thought I should try all the jobs that I could. So I now have all jobs above level 25 or so.
My first pick and main job at the moment is summoner. How could you not? I really prefer healing and tanking in MMOs, so the fact that I can level two jobs at once is great. I currently plan to switch my main job to scholar at max level.
Summoner is also great because it has such good flexibility. It has a heal, different Egi’s for different situations, and an instant rez if needed.
For a tanking class, I’ve been running some roulettes and keeping my Paladin as my second highest level job. It’s hard to go in there the first time without knowing mechanics so I usually run dungeons as summoner first.
I’ve also been working on keeping my gathering and crafting up to date, so all of them are now around level 40-50 too.
I just became a samurai this week and I think it looks amazing. I think my grandmother’s family were samurai so maybe that’s the call I’m feeling.
As for places I love? Right now one would have to be my FC house where I have gotten to know so many people. Yesterday my friend Miori came to say hello too.
Her blog is here
, and she has recently been challenging herself to write in English and Japanese too!
I showed her around the FC house which just got the new exterior. We got tired and took a break in one room. I should’ve taken more screenshots! Thank you for coming to visit, Miori!
Another favourite place has to be the bench next to the aetherite in Gridania. When I started on my free trial I also started reading blogs. Miori’s was one of my favourites because she wrote about beer, food, and meeting foreigners. All things I like!
That’s where I first heard about my friend Chamo, who has been sitting on the bench there almost every day since February 2018, I think! If you ever go past the Gridania aetherite on Kujata you might see her there. She takes screenshots basically every day and puts them on her twitter page here
They are both super cute Lalafell who go on amazing adventures together. Look!
The above four photos were all from her twitter page.
I received another question from a lovely reader Zaire: What’s your favourite dungeon and why? I think right now I enjoy Tamtara Deepcroft because it’s just so simple that I don't have to think about it.
As for other content, Ifrit was great because it really made me go: This is really a Final Fantasy game!
And Titan was memorable because our healer died straight away when I did it the first time and I managed to save the group as a summoner by spamming Physick I over and over again, haha.
Until next time!
(Bonus Christmas Photo outside my FC with my FC friend Ponch)
Thanks to choice of easy words, so I can understand.
Summer is attractive, because it can do dps and healing as you say.
Thank you for introducing my blog and so on.
I'm glad to like my diaries.
As you say, Chamo has been sitting for 2 years and 10 months.
Since I play FF14, I see her sit on Gridania bench everyday.
I try to write comment in English.
His name is Cid, but They are same pronunciation in Japanese.
I thought this too when I know your nameXD
Summoner seems to be good, but I prefer melee.
I especially like samurai. It’s my main job. Of course, I like others, because they are all max level.
I’m looking forward to Japanese.
Great post! Keep up the great work!
I found my friends made comments on your blog.
I am glad to see that you have nice Japanese friends here in Eorzea.
I love Ifrit, too. However, it is from different reason - it is really time efficient when I run leveling dungeon roulette. It takes just a few minutes :-)
Looking forward to your next blog in Japanese.
Have a good week ahead and enjoy a wonderful "hot" Christmas season!
Thank you for your comment, Miori.
It’s summoner instead of summer, right? I think it’s a useful job.
Chamo is a very kind and amazing person!
They’re always sitting on the Gridania bench, talking to people and taking screenshots, aren’t they?
Thank you for your comment, Zaire!
I’ve thought about the continuation of that gag, so I hope that you’ll laugh again or pretend to laugh at that time. 🤣
I’ll work hard on my next Japanese diary entry!
Thank you for your comment, Yc (Yutori).
Thank you for going out of your way to write in English.
Having all melee levelled is amazing! I think I want to try many different types of jobs.
I think samurai looks cool, so maybe I’ll try it out.
It seems more people than expected are waiting for the Japanese version, so I’ll have to hurry!
Thank you for your comment, Ellis!
You wrote it all in English. Wow!
Thank you for cheering on my diary.
Ifrit is nice and short, isn’t it? I always get nervous on Titan because of the one hit kill.
“Hot” Christmas is tomorrow so I’m looking forward to it!
I'm loving your blog posts and how they are in both Japanese and English. Have a Merry Christmas
Thank you for your comment, Zeon!
I’m going to keep trying hard on my diary entries!
Thank you for your comment, Kohehe!
It takes a lot of time, but I’m glad that a lot of different people might be able to enjoy the posts.
I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a Happy New Year❗️
Glad to see you making your way around Eorzea, it’s great to have friends around!
I been looking for a multilingual or English FC in Hades, do you have any FC to recommend?
Thank you for your comment, Spoon!
As you seem to be a new player, might I ask if you HAVE to stay on Hades? The entire Mana Datacentre doesn’t have many English speaking players at all.
Since you seem to have just started, I would very strongly recommend that you make a character on Tonberry or Kujata in the Elemental DC instead if you want to stay in the Japanese region.
Nice post, I actually just moved from NA Data Center to JP Data Center, in hope that closer Data Server with my country means better connection.
At first I thought that since the world like Kujata & Tonberry had a lot of English speaking player it will make those who speak Japanese a bit uncomfortable. It is nice to know that there are people who don't mind and try to use other language.
I better stop slacking of and start learning Japanese too :p
Thank you for your comment, Yarha!
I think that no matter if people speak English or Japanese, there are some who will dislike those different to themselves and some who will go out of their way to engage with them.
With a lot in between too.
The auto translate function in the game can definitely go a long way for people to communicate and I highly recommend it.
