We have discovered an issue affecting the PlayStation®5 version whereby logging out in certain areas and attempting to log in with the same character results in the player being stuck on the loading screen. We wish to offer our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
We are prioritizing investigation of the cause and development of a countermeasure. In the meantime, I would like to share some details regarding the affected areas and possible workarounds.
■ PlayStation®5 Version Users
We are currently working on a solution, and kindly ask that you refrain from logging out in the affected areas until the issue is resolved.
■ Affected Areas
・The Puppets' Bunker
・The Fractal Continuum (Hard)
・Saint Mocianne's Arboretum (Hard)
* If you have logged out in an instanced duty, you will be able to log in once the duty has concluded.
■ Users who have logged out in Rhalgr’s Reach
If you are unable to log in after logging out in Rhalgr's Reach, restarting the PlayStation®5 console and launching FINAL FANTASY XIV will allow you to log in.
Upon logging in, we kindly ask you to refrain from logging out in Rhalgr's Reach and other affected areas.
■ Users who have logged out in other affected areas
If you are unable to log in after logging out in one of the affected areas listed above, restarting the PlayStation®5 console and launching FINAL FANTASY XIV may allow you to log in. However, we are currently aware that this may not work in some cases.
If you are unable to log in after attempting the methods listed above, we kindly ask you to consider using the PlayStation®4 version via the PlayStation®5’s backward compatibility. The issue is exclusive to the PlayStation®5 version, and we have confirmed that users are able to log in using the PlayStation®4 version.
■ Regarding the issue and our investigation
We are prioritizing the login issue in addition to a separate issue occurring as of Patch 5.55, which is affecting toggling Japanese text input on a Japanese keyboard.
Per our investigation into the matter thus far, there is a high likelihood of an error in the optimization for faster loading speeds added in Patch 5.55, or a latent error which surfaced with the patch. Furthermore, we believe the two aforementioned issues are related to a singular cause.
Regarding the login issue being experienced in certain areas, we are currently nearing completion of our investigation of all areas. Any additional areas we discover to be affected by the login issue will be announced on the Lodestone.
We wish to offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by this oversight during implementation, and will continually work to swiftly address the issue and prevent its reoccurrence in the future.
