Regarding DUALSHOCK®4 Use on the Windows® Version via Bluetooth® Connection (Nov. 15)
Through our investigation we have confirmed that when the fix was implemented for a processing issue related to the DualSense™ wireless controller in Patch 7.1, the processing for the DUALSHOCK®4 was adjusted based on the prerequisite that it would be connected properly, and as a result the wireless connection for the DUALSHOCK®4 became unstable in certain environments.
■Regarding the use of a DUALSHOCK®4 wireless connection
As announced in the patch notes for Patch 6.0, when using a DUALSHOCK®4 through a wireless connection, various functions can only be used when connected via the “Wireless Adapter CUH-ZWA1x (the “x” will differ depending on the region it is sold) (Hereafter referred to as specified wireless adapter)”.
However, as a result of the handling in Patch 7.1, issues occurred where things that had previously worked ceased working, and as we were unable to notify players in advance, in Patch 7.11 we will adjust the relevant processing so that DUALSHOCK®4 Bluetooth® connections that do not go through the specified wireless adapter will be recognized as general-purpose input devices.
This may allow the use of the controller in the same environment as before Patch 7.1, but we kindly ask for your understanding that this is not an official connection procedure.
In addition, please try to use the specified wireless adapter as much as possible when connecting, or as sales and support for the DUALSHOCK®4 is ending, we would appreciate it if you could consider using another game pad.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we thank you for your understanding.
