Strong bite, versatile lure, bit between 18-25s on that. I got nothing else biting while trying to catch it but I used identical cast 3 times.

Rammthota Erhmehgerd Exodus [Primal]

Same as everyone else - just teleport to Twine and then northeastish to the canyon bordering the town. Both versatile lure and the desert dessert frog work, but the latter seemed to catch the right fish faster for me. As a note, you can buy the frogs right there in Twine and it's a lure, so you don't need a whole lot of them! (Don't buy too many like I did...)

Same place as everyone else, at the canyon practically in Twine itself.

Don't bother using Double Hook or Triple Hook, I tried both and they simply yielded one fish regardless. Use Identical Cast. Save yourself the time and GP.

Time doesn't seem to matter based on the other comments, I did my fishing between 9 pm and 2 am ET. It also seems that weather doesn't matter much as well since it was fair skies.
This seems to be the only catch with !!. Took around 20 total casts to get the 6 fish.
Highly recommend using identical cast when you can as this speeds up the process of course

Got 6, and here's what I tracked during my fishing.
Time: 4:00PM - 6:30PM Eorzea time.
Weather: Clear Skies
Bait: Desert Dessert Frog (though comments suggest I could have saved some gil on cheaper bait)
Location: Ahm Araeng (12.4, 16.6) Within the town of Twine
Did not Mooch, Patience, or Patience II.

You can use Identical Cast to squeeze your luck. I didn't try to use Double Hook. I had Snagging active, though I doubt that mattered.

Desert dustfish seem the most pervasive. Surface slap should help, but not really worth it.
Double Hook didn't seem to work. Identical cast definitely helps if able. Patience and Patience 2 seem unnecessary if iLVL is sufficient.

Claimed 6 by 1830 Eorzea time, though may be faster if iLVL is up to par.

If you're looking for the Amber Monkfish for the Crystarium trade in - don't bother wasting your sanity with the HC hook sets. You can trade in normal quality - Amber monkfish is a !! pull.

At the Hills of Amber fishing hole in Amh Araeng at 12.4 x 14.8, using Desert Dessert Frog bait under fair skies, lv 80 Fisher, and either Patience or Patience II. I used regular hook if I didn't get the double exclamation point to save on GP so I lost some of those casts. Synopsis: in 17 casts I caught one web-footed sand gecko, two Garick land crabs, one desert dustfish, and six amber monkfish, five of which were HQ. Seemed to be longer than normal wait between casting and hooking.
