Personal strat (probably works in other spots):
- Go to The Stainless Course (NE of Garlemald);
- Activate "Collect" buff;
- Carry some Hi-Cordials;
- Use a nice food and a "Revised Engineering Manual" for bonus;
- Use at least full blue scrip lv 80 gear;
- Always use "Prize Catch" and "Thaliak's Favor";
- Use "Chum" sometimes to speed-up;
- Versatile lure is enough.

With this you will powerlvl yourself and always catch giga clams/fishes. After some minutes you will get your 6 big Garlean Clams for max rewards plus tons of exp. If you just want to catch 6 fast use "Identical Cast" after getting any clam (collect will be random).

Everyone says Canals are the best bet, so that's where I went. The fishing hole is called "Stainless Course" and is at the north border of Garlemald. Save your GP; try to have 550 for catching clams so you can use Identical Cast, followed by Prize Catch, then throw your line out again if you get a clam. Happy fishing!
