MATCH RULES
Match Rules for all Stages of the Feast Regional Championship
- A “match” is defined as a series of “rounds” played between two teams.
Example: In a best-of-five round match, the team that wins three rounds will be the winner of the match.
- Role Composition
A team must be comprised of 1 tank, 1 healer, 1 melee DPS, and 1 ranged DPS.
Individual Role Breakdown
Tank: Paladin / Warrior / Dark Knight / Gunbreaker
Melee DPS: Monk / Dragoon / Ninja / Samurai
Ranged DPS: Bard / Machinist / Dancer / Black Mage / Summoner / Red Mage
Healer: White Mage / Scholar / Astrologian
- Team members may freely change jobs between rounds as long as they meet the role composition requirement.
- Teams may freely change PvP additional actions and traits per round.
- Teams may switch party members per match, but not per round.
- In-game macros may be used.
- The Quick Chat feature may be used.
Preliminary Match Rules
- Teams will compete in the Feast (Team Ranked Match) to gain team ratings to be ranked in the in-game rating system.
- Rankings will be determined by the best team rating during the preliminaries.
- If multiple teams have the same rating, the rankings will be determined by their current rating, then number of victories, and finally their win rate.
- Entrants must prepare all hardware themselves.
- Any equipment and/or network-related issues will be the responsibility of the player.
- If at any point the number of team members does not meet the required minimum four player composition, the team will be automatically removed from the rankings.
Semifinal Match Rules
- The Operations Team will use the Feast (Custom Match – Crystal Tower) for the matches.
- The matches will be a round-robin, with the winner determined by best-of-three (BO3).
- The rankings will be determined based on win rate once all teams have completed their matches.
- If, during the round-robin, the participating teams win the same number of matches, then a single round match will be held between the tied teams to break the tie. Should the teams win the same number of matches again, then the first and second place winning teams will be determined based on highest, and second highest, medal count from the final rounds.
- Entrants must prepare all hardware themselves.
- Any equipment and/or network-related issues will be the responsibility of the player.
- In a situation where a match cannot advance due to issues such as a server outage, then that match will be null, and a rematch will be held.
- Team members may only participate in the semifinals with the team they were in during the end of preliminaries when rankings were finalized. If at any point the number of team members does not meet the required minimum four player composition, the team will be disqualified.
Final Match Rules
DISQUALIFICATION
If any of the members of a PvP team meet any of the following conditions, the team may be disqualified from participation in the Championship at the Operation Team’s discretion.
- If a match cannot be played due to PvP team member’s tardiness or unavailability.
- If a team member conducts any of the prohibited actions listed below.
RESTRICTIONS
The following actions will be prohibited during the course of the championship.
- 1. Actions that go against good sportsmanship, honesty, or fair play.
- 2. Actions that are in violation of Square Enix staff’s instructions.
- 3. Deliberately damaging hardware provided by the Operations Team.
- 4. Deliberately causing delays or impeding the progress of the championship.
- 5. Any violence, physically or verbally against another.
- 6. Deliberately abusing any in-game issues.
- 7. Using another users’ Square Enix Account to participate in the championship.
- 8. Transferring or selling the rights to participate in the championship to a third party.
- 9. Actions that will affect the outcome of a match by cooperating with other players, such as win-trading.
- 10. Actions that may lead to using the championship as a form of profit.
- 11. Activities that are prohibited in the rules set forth in the Official Rules.
- 12. Activities that are prohibited by the FINAL FANTASY XIV user agreement.
- 13. Activities that are prohibited by the Square Enix Account agreement.
- 14. Any other activities that the Square Enix deems as an illicit activity.
If a team is disqualified, the next eligible PvP team in the order of the rankings will be selected to proceed.

2018 FINAL FANTASY XIV – THE FEAST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP 2018 NORTH AMERICA (THE “PROMOTION”) OFFICIAL RULES
Key Rules
- Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):
- The fifty (50) states of the United States of America, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
- Canada
- Mexico

Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 18 years of age or older, and who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence, at the date and time of entry.

Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between July 3, 2018 at 3:00 a.m. Pacific Time through August 13, 2018 at 10:00 p.m. Pacific Time (the “Entry Period”). The exact start and finish time may change slightly due to maintenance schedules as published on the Lodestone website available at the following URL: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/.

Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period (and after, as applicable):

General Rules
- You must have and maintain your own active FINAL FANTASY XIV (the “Game”) North American Square Enix account, and must use this account throughout the Promotion (except as expressly stated below).
- You must have Game characters on the North American Aether data center (“Aether”) or Primal data center (“Primal”).
- Be willing and able (both physically and legally) to travel to Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in the Game Fan Festival (“Fan Festival”) at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino from November 14, 2018 through November 18, 2018 (for example, if you reside outside the United States, you must have a valid passport and may be required to have a valid visa).
- Form a player-versus-player team (a “Team”) consisting of between four (4) and six (6) players.
- To form a Team, you must form an in-Game group with a minimum of four (4) and maximum of six (6) Game players and travel in the Game to the Wolves’ Den Pier. Once there, locate and interact with the “Team Board” and select the option to “Create Team.”
- Each member of the Team must be eligible to enter this Promotion and must have read and agreed to the Official Rules for the Promotion before participating.
- Each Team must consist of at least one (1) tank (i.e., paladin, warrior, or dark knight), one (1) healer (i.e., white mage, scholar, or astrologian), one (1) melee DPS (i.e., monk, dragoon, ninja, or samurai), and one (1) ranged DPS (i.e., bard, machinist, black mage, summoner, or red mage). During a match or a round, each Team must consist of one (1) tank, one (1) healer, one (1) melee DPS, and one (1) ranged DPS.
- Team members may freely change jobs between rounds as long as they meet the role composition requirement.
- Teams may freely change PvP additional actions and traits per round.
- If any Team fails to have at least four (4) eligible members at any time, that Team will be disqualified.
- Only four (4) Team members may participate in any one match (each Team may have up to two (2) alternatives at any time).
- Players may participate on only one (1) Team during the Promotion.

Qualifying Period
- During the Entry Period, Teams may challenge each other (using the in-Game tools) in the Game in ranked matches to accumulate ranking points. Points are automatically accumulated through the ranked match system which populate on a leaderboard.
- Each match in the qualifying period consists of one round, winner take all.
- The three (3) eligible Teams that acquire the most ranking points in Aether, and the three (3) eligible Teams that acquire the most ranking points in Primal, will advance to the semi-finals.
- During the qualifying period, Teams may substitute active members for alternates between matches.

Semi-Finals
- The semi-finals will take place between 4pm PDT on September 8th and 5 pm PDT on September 9th.
- During the semi-finals, Sponsor will arrange two (2) round-robin tournaments: (i) one (1) round-robin tournament between the three (3) Teams from Aether and (ii) one (1) round-robin tournament between the three (3) Teams from Primal.
- If three (3) Teams win the same number of matches in the round robin, then each Team shall play one (1) additional single-round match against each other Team. If there’s still a tie, then the first and second place winning teams will be determined based on highest, and second highest, medal count from the semi-finals rematch rounds.
- The top two (2) teams from Aether and the top two (2) Team from Primal will advance to the finals.
- During the semi-finals, Teams may substitute active members for alternates between matches, but not between rounds in a single match.

Finals
- The finals will take place in person at the Fan Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada on or around November 16, 2018 and November 17, 2018.
- You must bring to the finals valid identification that matches the name and address associated with your Square Enix Account. At Sponsor’s request, you must show Sponsor valid identification that matches the name and address in your Square Enix Account.
- The top two (2) Teams from Aether will compete against each other in a best-two-out-of- three match; the first Team to win two (2) rounds will advance to the grand finals.
- The top two (2) Teams from Primal will compete against each other in a best-two-out-of-three match; the first Team to win two (2) rounds will advance to the grand finals.
- During the finals, Teams may not substitute active members for alternates.
- You must use a Square Enix Account provided by Sponsor during the finals; this account will contain your character data.
- Your Team must be physically present at Fan Festival at the dates, times, and locations provided to you by Sponsor in order to participate in the finals.

Grand Finals
- The two (2) grand finalist Teams will compete against each other in a best-three-out-of-five match; the first Team to win two (2) rounds will be the Promotion grand prize winner.
- During the grand finals, Teams may not substitute active members for alternates.
- You must use a Square Enix Account provided by Sponsor during the grand finals; this account will contain your character data.
- Your Team must be physically present at Fan Festival at the dates, times, and locations provided to you by Sponsor in order to participate in the grand finals.

Odds of Winning
- Odds of winning depend on number of eligible entries received and each Team's demonstration of skill in the applicable activity.

Additional Terms
- You must comply with the following restrictions:
- For qualifying round and semi-final matches:
- You may use in-Game macros.
- You may not use keyboard macros relating to gaming software or gaming hardware like the Logitech G13.
- For finals and grand finals matches:
- You must only use the devices and voice chat technology provided by Sponsor and you may not use your own technology or devices.
- You may use in-Game macros (you will be provided with time to prepare your macros and save them into USB memory before the Finals).
- If a Team cannot participate in a match, chooses not to participate in a match, or otherwise indicates to Sponsor that it will not participate in match, or if a Team is disqualified during a match, for any reason, the opponent Team shall win the match by default.
- If a Team is disqualified during the semi-finals, finals, or grand finals (other than during a match), the next-highest-ranking eligible Team will take the disqualified Team’s place.
- You must adhere to the Game User Agreement and all other applicable Game/Sponsor policies and terms.
- You must be able to communicate in English.
- Boosting: You may not advertise, sell, purchase, or exchange any boosting service. You may not play for the purpose of acquiring virtual items, rewards, or advancement in game play on behalf of a third-party.
- Win-trading: You may not abuse matches in order to force a match result in or against your favor. This includes force disconnecting and failure to perform any actions in match.
- Poor Sportsmanship: You must avoid any actions or behavior inconsistent with principles of basic sportsmanship, honesty, and fair play. You must not engage in violence or use offensive language. You must not abuse game exploits, hacks, other in-game issues.
- You may not damage any hardware or other equipment or technology provided to you by Sponsor or Sponsor’s designee.
- You may not deliberately or negligently cause delays or impede the progress of the Promotion.
- You must not use any other person’s Square Enix Account, or permit any person to use your Square Enix Account, during the Promotion.
- You must not use the Promotion to obtain or generate any profit for yourself or for any anyone else other than Square Enix and its designees.
- You hereby acknowledge that the Sponsor will film, photograph, record, and/or livestream matches or other portions of the Promotion on the Internet and may display, reproduce, distribute, and broadcast your name, likeness, and gameplay on the livestream, on Sponsor's websites and social media channels, and elsewhere. By participating in the Promotion, you hereby grant Sponsor a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable, assignable, non-exclusive license to make this use of your name, likeness, and gameplay.
- You must promptly comply with all posted instructions and rules, and all instructions and rules otherwise provided by Promotion staff, venue staff, or Sponsor staff, before, during, and after the Promotion.
- You must immediately raise all complaints and/or disputes about gameplay or Promotion procedures, or any other aspect of the Promotion, with the Promotion staff. You waive any complaints or disputes that you do not immediately raise to the Promotion staff. Promotion staff will have complete discretion to adjudicate all complaints and disputes about gameplay or Promotion procedures, or any other aspect of the Promotion.
- Promotion staff may alter the Promotion or Game structure, or grant variances in the Promotion or Game rules, based on the Promotion staff’s judgment and discretion in order to ensure fair play and results.
- Promotion staff decisions are final and cannot be further appealed or challenged.
- Each entrant and each Team is solely responsible for ensuring that his/her/its equipment, network connection, etc. are adequate to participate in the Promotion and are issue and interruption free.
- If a match during the semi-finals, finals, or grand finals, cannot be completed due to a server outage or similar technology issues related to Sponsor’s servers or technology, then the match will be null, and a rematch will be held.
- During the finals and grand finals, entrants may not wear clothing with visible logos or trademarks, or any sponsored clothing.
- Winner Selection: The Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, shall select as winners four (4) Teams of between four (4) and six (6) entrants each (so, a total of between sixteen (16) and twenty four (24) entrants) from among all entries using the methodology described above.
- Prize(s): The winners shall receive the following prize(s):
- Each member of the grand prize winning Team shall receive each of the following prizes:
- One (1) gaming laptop (approximate retail value of $2,000.00 USD)
- One (1) gaming mouse (approximate retail value of $100.00 USD)
- One (1) gaming headset (approximate retail value of $100.00 USD)
- Three (3) years of FINAL FANTASY XIV game time (approximate retail value of $550.00 USD)
- $1,500.00 USD payable in the form of a check to roughly offset any tax obligation the winner may face*
(Total approximate retail value: $4,250.00 USD)
- In addition, each member of the four (4) finalist Teams shall receive the following prizes:
- A trip to Las Vegas, Nevada to participate in the finals during the Game Fan Festival (approximate retail value of $2,000 USD).
- One (1) ticket to attend the Game Fan Festival (approximate retail value of $150 USD).
- A virtual in-Game item (no monetary value)
- $650.00 USD payable in the form of a check to roughly offset any tax obligation the winner may face*
(Total approximate retail value: $2,800.00 USD)
* Please note that while the cash prizes are intended to roughly offset any tax obligations a winner may face, the value of the cash prize will not change regardless of the winner’s actual tax obligation, even if the winner’s tax obligation is ultimately significantly higher than the allotted cash prize.
The trip prizes shall include:
- Round-trip coach class air transportation for one (1) person from a regional airport near the winner’s home in the Promotion Jurisdiction (Sponsor to select the airport) to an airport in or near Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Round-trip ground transportation for one (1) person from the airport in or near Las Vegas, Nevada to a hotel in or near Las Vegas, Nevada.
- Four nights, five days hotel accommodations (one room) for one (1) person in or near Las Vegas, Nevada.
Sponsor shall not provide (i) transportation other than as expressly stated above or (ii) meals. Winners are fully responsible for all costs associated with the prizes that are not expressly stated herein. Please see the Additional Rules for more terms and conditions about trip prizes.
- Winner Notification: Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winner(s) of their final positions in the tournament by or about November 17, 2018 via email or in-person communication.
- Misc. Rules: You must follow all relevant health and safety guidelines of your video game platform (if applicable) and the following general guidelines: a) take occasional rest breaks during extended play, b) maintain a healthy sleep schedule and diet, c) avoid playing when tired or needing sleep, d) stop playing immediately and consult a doctor if you experience any of the following: lightheadedness, nausea, motion sickness, discomfort or pain, dizziness, eye or muscle twitches, disorientation, involuntary movement, altered visions, loss of awareness, seizures, convulsion, or any other negative physical or mental effects or conditions.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.

- Puede usar macros dentro del Juego.
- No puede usar macros de teclado relacionadas con software de juegos o hardware de juegos como el Logitech G13.
- Para partidos finales y gran final:
- Solo debe usar los dispositivos y la tecnología de chat de voz proporcionados por el Patrocinador y no puede usar su propia tecnología o dispositivos.
- Puede usar macros dentro del juego (se le dará tiempo para preparar sus macros y guardarlas en la memoria USB antes de las Finales).
- Si un Equipo no puede participar en una partida, elige no participar en una partida o indica al Patrocinador que no participará en la partida, o si un Equipo es descalificado durante una partida, por cualquier motivo, el Equipo oponente deberá gana la partida por defecto.
- Si un equipo es descalificado durante las semifinales, finales o gran final (que no sean durante una partida), el siguiente equipo elegible de mayor rango tomará el lugar del equipo descalificado.
- Debe cumplir con el Acuerdo del Usuario del Juego y todas las demás políticas y términos aplicables de Juego/Patrocinador.
- Debe poder comunicarse en inglés.
- Impulso: no puede anunciar, vender, comprar o intercambiar ningún servicio de potenciación. No puede jugar con el propósito de adquirir objetos virtuales, recompensas o avances en el juego en nombre de un tercero.
- Ventajoso para todos: no puedes abusar de las coincidencias para forzar el resultado de un partido en o en contra de tu favor. Esto incluye desconectar la fuerza y no realizar ninguna acción en coincidencia.
- Pobre deportividad: debe evitar cualquier acción o comportamiento incompatible con los principios básicos de deportividad, honestidad y juego limpio. No debes involucrarte en violencia o usar un lenguaje ofensivo. No debes abusar de hazañas, hacks ni otros problemas en el juego.
- No puede dañar ningún hardware u otro equipo o tecnología que le haya proporcionado el Patrocinador o la persona designada por el Patrocinador.
- Usted no puede causar demoras de forma deliberada o negligente ni impedir el progreso de la Promoción.
- Debe usar la cuenta de Square Enix de otra persona o permitir que otra persona use su cuenta de Square Enix durante la Promoción.
- No debe usar la Promoción para obtener o generar ganancias para usted o para cualquier otra persona que no sea Square Enix y sus designados.
- Usted reconoce que el Patrocinador filmará, fotografiará, grabará y / o transmitirá partidos u otras partes de la Promoción en Internet y podrá exhibir, reproducir, distribuir y difundir su nombre, imagen y juego en vivo, en los sitios web del Patrocinador y los canales de redes sociales, y en otros lugares. Al participar en la Promoción, usted otorga al Patrocinador una licencia permanente, sublicenciable, asignable, no exclusiva, libre de regalías, mundialmente vigente, para hacer este uso de su nombre, semejanza y juego.
- Debe cumplir con prontitud con todas las instrucciones y reglas publicadas, y todas las instrucciones y reglas provistas por el personal de la Promoción, el personal del lugar o el personal del Patrocinador, antes, durante y después de la Promoción.
- Debe presentar de inmediato todas las quejas y/o disputas sobre el juego o los procedimientos de Promoción, o cualquier otro aspecto de la Promoción, con el personal de la Promoción. Usted renuncia a cualquier queja o disputa que no plantee inmediatamente al personal de la Promoción. El personal de la promoción tendrá total discreción para adjudicar todas las quejas y disputas sobre el juego o los procedimientos de la Promoción, o cualquier otro aspecto de la Promoción.
- El personal de la Promoción puede alterar la estructura de la Promoción o el Juego, u otorgar discrepancias en las reglas de la Promoción o del Juego, en función del criterio y la discreción del personal de la Promoción para garantizar el juego limpio y los resultados.
- Las decisiones del personal de la Promoción son definitivas y no se pueden apelar ni impugnar.
- Cada participante y cada Equipo es el único responsable de garantizar que su equipo, conexión de red, etc. sean adecuados para participar en la Promoción y sean gratuitos y libres de interrupciones.
- Si un partido durante las semifinales, finales o gran final no se puede completar debido a una interrupción del servidor o problemas tecnológicos similares relacionados con los servidores o la tecnología del Patrocinador, entonces la coincidencia será nula y se realizará una revancha.
- Durante las finales y gran final, los participantes no pueden usar ropa con logotipos o marcas comerciales visibles, o cualquier vestimenta patrocinada.
- Selección del ganador: el Patrocinador, o su designado, seleccionará como ganadores cuatro (4) equipos de entre cuatro (4) y seis (6) participantes cada uno (por lo tanto, un total de entre dieciséis (16) y veinticuatro (24) participantes) de entre todas las entradas que usan la metodología descrita anteriormente.

Forming a PvP Team
You may form a team of 4 to 6 players. Click here for further details. 
Entry to the Preliminaries
You can enter the preliminaries as a PvP Team by participating in the in-game “The Feast (Team Ranked Match)” PvP matches. The PvP Team’s rating will change based on the result of each match. At the end of the preliminaries period, teams are determined to enter the semifinals based on their rankings in each of the data centers and their eligibility under the Official Rules.
Entry to the Semifinals
The top six eligible teams from the preliminaries in the Chaos data centre will be able to participate in the semifinals. An email will be sent to each of the qualifying PvP team leaders by the 27th of August with further details.
Entry to the Finals
During the semifinals, the top two teams from the Aether data center, and the Primal data center, will be eligible to participate in the finals. At the finals, participants will be required to use the Square Enix Account provided by the event staff. These account will contain the character data of the participant, so you will be able to play with your character. An email will be sent to each of the qualifying PvP team members with further details.
