Patch 4.25 contains content that can only be accessed by registering the expansion packs for FINAL FANTASY XIV to your service account. To distinguish between adjustments that are and are not affected by the registration of these expansions, the following notations will be used throughout the patch notes:

These additions and adjustments only require the purchase of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn.

These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Heavensward.

These additions and adjustments require the purchase and registration of FINAL FANTASY XIV: Stormblood.

These additions and adjustments contain elements that may require the purchase and registration of the expansion packs noted above.

The Forbidden Land, Eureka

New furnishings have been added.

Battle System

The Forbidden Land, Eureka Anemos, has been added.

The Forbidden Land, Eureka, is an instanced area that up to 144 players can explore simultaneously.

Contend with raging aetherial energies and strengthen Eureka weapons and gear in order to progress through this untamed land.

Read on, and prepare to delve into the myriad mysteries awaiting you and your fellow adventurers!

Requirements

Entering the Forbidden Land, Eureka

Players can enter the Forbidden Land, Eureka, by speaking to the NPC Rodney in Kugane (X:8.5 Y:14.2). If entering as a party, the leader must speak to the NPC.
* When registering to enter, all party members must be in Kugane.

Party Play

Unlike other instanced areas, Eureka allows the use of party functions such as inviting party members, disbanding the party, and leaving the party without exiting Eureka. You may use the Adventurer List to seek out players close in elemental level to form parties and explore Eureka together. It is also possible to change your online status to "Looking for Party."

* Please note that if you enter Eureka as a member of a party, even if you leave it while within Eureka, you will be returned to the party upon exiting Eureka.

Changing Class and Jobs

You may change between Disciple of War and Magic classes and jobs at Port Surgate.
* This includes classes and jobs that have not reached level 70.

Riding Mounts

Initially, you will not be able to ride mounts in Eureka. However, fulfilling certain requirements and completing specific quests will grant the ability to ride mounts.
* Mounts cannot fly in Eureka.

Leveling in the Forbidden Land, Eureka

Elemental Level

In Eureka, a character's capabilities are largely determined by elemental level.
* Item level is synced to 300.

Players begin at elemental level 1 and can reach level 20. Any elemental levels earned will carry over to subsequent forays into Eureka.

Elemental Experience Points

Defeating enemies in Eureka grants elemental experience points, which raise the elemental level. The amount of elemental experience points earned varies according to factors such as the number of party members and the difference in elemental level of the enemy and the player.
* Regular experience points are not awarded in Eureka.

Penalties for Being KO'd

Elemental experience points are lost when KO'd at elemental level 6 or higher. This can be prevented if the player is resurrected before a certain amount of time has passed.

From elemental level 11 and higher, elemental level will decrease if elemental experience points fall below zero as a result of being KO'd.

Magia Board and Magicite

The magia board enhances elemental affinity to give an advantage against enemies in Eureka.

The magia board is divided into six sections, each representing a different element. Melding magicite to the board will enhance the player's affinity to a given element. Magicite is earned by progressing through the Eureka story.

Magicite can be repositioned or reset at the magia melder in Port Surgate.

Although the magia melder can only be used in Port Surgate, the magia board can be spun to adjust elemental affinity anywhere in Eureka. It is possible to spin the magia board using text commands.

Each spin of the magia board consumes one unit of magia aether. This gradually refills over time and can be completely restored by accessing the magia melder.

The Elements of the Forbidden Land, Eureka

Enemy Affinity

Enemies encountered in the Forbidden Land, Eureka, are imbued with powers of a particular elemental affinity. To overcome these enemies, players must use the magia board in conjunction with magicite to strengthen their own elemental affinity.

The affinity of enemies is indicated by an icon to the left of their display names.

Effects of Affinity

The six elemental forces within the Forbidden Land, Eureka, are constantly in flux, and understanding the relationship between them is vital to exploration.

Increasing one's affinity with a given element will increase the damage dealt to certain enemies, as well as reduce the damage received from others.

For example, if you wish to deal more damage to an enemy aspected to fire, you should strengthen your affinity to wind. However, should you wish to suffer less damage from the same enemy, you must strengthen your affinity to fire.

Elemental affinity is changed via a magia melder, or by spinning the magia board to make adjustments while in the field.

Rewards

Eureka Weapons and Gear

When defeating enemies, players will occasionally obtain protean crystals, which can be used to enhance Eureka gear by speaking with Gerolt in Eureka (X:17.9 Y:32.2).

Specific items are required to enhance Eureka gear.

The quantity and frequency with which protean crystals can be obtained will increase with the elemental level of enemies, the greatest yields coming from those at level 20 or above.

EXP Chains

Upon defeating an enemy, players will have a limited window in which they may attempt to defeat another. If successful, they will initiate an EXP chain.
* The EXP chain ends once it reaches 30.
* EXP chains cannot be initiated or extended by defeating enemies whose elemental level is lower than your own.

Defeating subsequent enemies while an EXP chain is active will earn additional elemental EXP. This will also increase the drop rate and quantity of rewards.

Notorious Monsters

Players may encounter especially powerful enemies called notorious monsters. Those who would engage them are advised to seek aid from other adventurers.

Defeating notorious monsters yields a great deal of elemental EXP, as well as various rewards.

The drop rate for the blissful kamuy fife and reveling kamuy fife has been increased.

Moreover, players can now obtain these items in exchange for totems by speaking with Eschina in Rhalgr's Reach (X:13.8 Y:11.8).

Season Seven of the Feast will begin.

When the season has ended, the top combatants for solo rankings will receive special rewards.
* The number of rewards distributed may differ between data centers in the event players have the same ranking.
* Rankings will be available for viewing the day following the start of Season Seven and will be updated daily. Should an error occur with calculating results, the day's rankings will not be updated.

Resolved Issues

• The following issues have been addressed.
• An issue in the Ananta beast tribe daily quest "The Antlion's Share" wherein using a quest item at the same time as entering a duty would prevent completion of the quest.
• An issue wherein using the warrior action Defiance followed by Inner Release guaranteed that Equilibrium restored critical HP. The guaranteed critical and direct hit effect only applies to attacks, not healing actions.
• An issue wherein stacking the monk's Meditation five times then changing area would cause the Meditation sound effect to play again.
  * Information relating to the Meditation sound effect issue has been corrected.
• An issue wherein the action help text for the white mage action Divine Benison did not include the duration of the effect.
• An issue wherein the tutorial for the white mage HUD contained incorrect information.
• An issue in the instanced duty "Ala Mhigo" wherein some of the boss enemy's animations did not display correctly.
• An issue in Alexander - The Arm of the Father (Savage) wherein the living liquid and liquid limbs were not displayed correctly.
• An issue in Sigmascape V1.0 (Savage) wherein moving to a passenger car while targeted by the boss enemy would cause the attack's effect to be displayed inside the passenger car.
• An issue in Sigmascape V2.0 and Sigmascape V2.0 (Savage) wherein being KO'd while performing a duty action would allow the player to move while KO'd.
• An issue wherein the PVP Team chat server was unstable.
  * This fix addresses an issue described in a previous announcement.
• An issue wherein forming a party from the PvP Team menu and joining a duty from the Duty Finder would sometimes prevent cross-world players from participating.
• An issue wherein checking "Show only recently added items." after changing an item's quantity in the shop window would result in changes to other items' quantities.
• An issue wherein newly added items would not appear in the shop windows of Calamity salvagers or vendors dealing in Wolf Marks after checking "Show only recently added items."
• An issue with the Timers interface wherein the "Remaining" and "High Score" values would not update upon opening the Fashion Report window.
• An issue wherein the ryumyaku dogi of healing did not display correctly when equipped by a Lalafell.
• An issue wherein the republican signifer's horns did not display correctly when equipped by a male Elezen.
• An issue wherein players could not repurchase the false mustache from Calamity salvagers.
• An issue wherein the recipe for the true linen robe of healing required one more bottle of grade 3 reisui than similar recipes.
• An issue with housing wherein chocobos appeared the incorrect size upon being stabled.
• An issue wherein furniture could be placed outside of plots in the Goblet.
• An issue with the market board wherein changing the price of items sold in stacks of 100 or more resulted in the number of items in the stack changing to 99.
• An issue wherein the incorrect sound effect played upon using the Unending Journey or crystal bell after accessing the glamour dresser.

Other various issues have also been addressed.

* An issue relating to Little Ladies' Day was resolved prior to the launch of the event and has therefore been removed from the list.

Known Issues

• An issue in Eureka wherein the World name and icon of a player from another World sending a party invite are not displayed in the chat log under certain conditions.
• An issue in Eureka wherein players cannot change gear via gear sets or the Recommended Gear button outside of Port Surgate.
  * It is still possible to change gear for each gear slot individually.
• An issue in Eureka wherein extraneous text appears on screen when using the /search text command while the Adventurer List window is open.
• An issue in Eureka wherein logging out when the magia board's remaining aether is at 0 causes this value to display in the wrong color after logging back in.
  * The display of remaining magia aether will return to normal when the value is 1 or greater.
• An issue in the Ananta beast tribe quest "Schism Between Sisters" wherein a NPC is named incorrectly.
