Entry Requirements

You must possess an active FFXIV account at the time of submission and agree to the criteria written below. By submitting an entry, you confirm that you have read and agree to the terms and conditions below, and that you are eligible to participate.

Entry Period

Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2:00 a.m. to Monday, August 21, 2023 at 7:59 a.m. (PDT)

Theme

Hairstyles you’d like to see in FINAL FANTASY XIV.

Entry Subject

Hairsytyle which can be used in-game.
You may freely choose the gender or race to design the hairstyle for.
In general, the hairstyle will be planned to be available for all races. In the event that an entry is implemented, the Development team may make adjustments to the design.

Winner Selection

The FINAL FANTASY XIV Development and Operations teams will select the winning entries and announce the winners via the Lodestone on or around November 2023.

Prizes

30 winners will each receive one (1) pair of Fat Cat Earrings.

* The number of winners is subject to change.
* Prize delivery is scheduled on or around November, 2023.
* The prize will be delivered to the character specified during the submission process.
* Each prize is a virtual, in-game item with no monetary value. Prizes cannot be sold or transferred.

Entry Implementation

* If an entry is deemed to be excellent, Square Enix may decide to implement it into the game in the future. Note that there is no guarantee that winning entries will be implemented into the game.
* Entries that did not win may also be selected for implementation in the future.
* If an entry is to be implemented, the Development team may make adjustments to the design or features of the hairstyle.

How to Enter

Visit the Entry Submission Form from the bottom of this page to enter.
Please be sure to fill out all required information and attach the required image of your entry submission. Entries submitted outside of the Submission Form page will not be eligible.

Entry Requirements

• Character Name
• Home World Name
• The URL of your character profile on the Lodestone
  (Ex: https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone/character/000000/)
• Nickname
• Entry Title
• Brief Comment (50 characters)

* Your nickname, entry title, and comment will be publicly posted along with your entry when we announce the winners.
* Other than instances when you are using your real name as your nickname, please do not include personal information such as your name and address in your submission.

Entry Specification

• Entrants must create the image(s) using digital graphics software or by capturing a photo of the artwork using the template provided. (Required)
• You may submit a photo of a wig or physical object by placing it on the template provided.
• 1-3 images: front design (required), side design (required), and back design (required). When providing additional information, if it does not fit in the template, please attach additional images.
• Please include the following information, if the design includes accessories and/or highlights.

• Materials and texture for the accessories (such as hairbands and ribbons).
• Sections for the highlights

• Image size must be 1920 x 1080 pixels or larger
• Image format must be in .jpg or .png format
• Image file size must be 5MB or under

* You may submit up to three (3) entries per account.
* You may submit multiple entries. However, older entries will be disregarded if they exceed the maximum entries allowed.
* Each entry must be unique and submitted separately.
* You may not submit an entry from an image saved on a cloud storage service or with links to images uploaded to online storage websites.
* If the resolution of the image(s) may be too low or there are other graphical issues with the image(s), the entry may not be considered for selection.
* If your entry is selected to be implemented in-game, we may request additional designs.

Additional Rules

• Entries must be a new original design created by the person entering for this contest specifically.
• Entrants must refrain from posting their entries on blogs or other social channels until Square Enix announces the results. If entries are found to be posted before the list of winners are announced, the entry may be disqualified.

Entries will be excluded from the judging process if they meet any of the following criteria:

• Entries that are deemed to be out of line with the purpose of this contest.
• Entries that may be considered as infringement of intellectual property rights, including proprietary rights and copyrights, honor, trust, privacy, or other rights of Square Enix, other members, or any other third party.
• Entries that did not provide all the required information.
• Entries that may be offensive to public order and morals.
• Entries generated by AI.
• Entries that are imitations of another person’s work.
• Any entries that Square Enix deems inappropriate for publication.

Hairstyle Design Contest 2023 (The “Promotion”) Official Rules

A. Official Rules: The Official Rules for this Promotion consist of both (i) these key rules summarizing the important rules for participating in the Promotion (the “Key Rules”) and (ii) the Additional Promotion Official Rules (“Additional Rules”) applicable to your place of legal residence. Please review the Additional Rules at the following URL:

B. Territories: This Promotion is open only to individuals who are legal residents and physically and permanently located in one of the following countries/territories at the date and time of entry (the “Promotion Jurisdiction”):

• South America, North America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and Asia excluding Japan, China, Mongolia, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Laos, Thailand, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines, Brunei, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Cambodia, Macao, and wherever prohibited by law.

C. Age Limit: This Promotion is open only to individuals 18 years of age or older at the date and time of entry. Parental consent is required for entrants below the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence.

D. Entry Period: You may enter the Promotion only between Monday, July 24, 2023 at 2:00 a.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) and Monday, August 21, 2023 at 7:59 a.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) (the “Entry Period”).

E. Entry Procedure and Limitations: In order to enter the Promotion, you must complete the following steps during the Entry Period:

  Step One:

• You must have and maintain your own active FINAL FANTASY XIV (the “Game”) Square Enix account.
• Using the template provided, create images (either physical or digital) of a hairstyle design that you would like for use on player characters in the game, consisting of three (3) images – the front design, the side design, and the back design (the “Hairstyle”).
• If you create a physical image of the Hairstyle (e.g. on paper), you must create a digital image of that physical image of the Hairstyle in order to submit it.
• Digital images of the Hairstyle must be either .jpg or .png format (files up to 5MB allowed).
• Entrants may use image editing software to alter, enhance or otherwise style the entries they create.
• Please note that all entries must be the sole original creative work of the person submitting the entry. You may not submit works created by another person or by AI (in whole or in part).

  Step Two:

• Visit the Entry Submission Form page and log in with your Square Enix Account.
• Submit your entry at the Entry Submission Form page and include the following information:
• Your character name and world (this is the character that would be receiving the in-game prize should you be chosen as a winner), the Lodestone URL that points to the character associated with your Entry, your nickname, your entry title, your Hairstyle (uploaded via the Entry Submission Form), and a brief comment about your entry (collectively an “Entry”).
• Please also provide the following information regarding your design of your Hairstyle if the design includes accessories and/or highlights:

• Materials and texture for the accessories (such as hairbands and ribbons)
• Sections for the highlights

  Additional Entry Limitations:

• You must not include any additional personal information in your Entry.
• Entries may not be edited after submission.
• You may submit up to three (3) Entries per account, however, each Entry must be unique and submitted separately.
• If you submit more than three (3) Entries, only the three (3) most recently submitted Entries will be considered.
• You must refrain from posting your Entries on blogs or other social channels until Sponsor announces the results. If your Entries are found to be posted before the list of winners are announced, your Entry may be disqualified.

F. Winner Selection: The Sponsor (listed below), or Sponsor’s designee, shall select the top thirty (30) Entries from all eligible submissions using the following methodology:

The Sponsor’s Development and Operations teams shall select winners based on the (i) technical quality of the Hairstyle, (ii) originality of the Hairstyle, (iii) and creativity of the Hairstyle.

Winner(s) shall be selected on or around November 30, 2023 at 999 N Pacific Coast Highway, El Segundo, California, USA 90245.

G. Prize(s): Each winner shall receive One (1) Fat Cat Earrings (an in-game Final Fantasy XIV item with no monetary value). The prize will be delivered to the character specified during the submission process. Prizes will be delivered in November 2023.

If an Entry is deemed to be excellent by Sponsor in its sole discretion, Sponsor may decide to implement it into the Game in the future. In such cases, the Development team may make adjustments to the design or features of the Hairstyle. Note that there is no guarantee that winning entries will be implemented into the Game. Entries that did not win may also be selected for implementation into the Game in the future.

H. Winner Notification: Sponsor, or Sponsor’s designee, will notify winners by or about November 30, 2023 via a Lodestone website announcement.

I. Sponsor: The sponsor of this Promotion is Square Enix, Inc.

J. Ownership of Entries: All Entries and other materials (the “Entry Materials”) (including all copyright, trademark, and other proprietary rights associated therewith) submitted by you become the property of Sponsor upon submission, and Entry Materials will not be returned to any contestant. In consideration of our acceptance and review of your Entry Materials into the Promotion, you hereby assign to Sponsor absolutely all right, title, and interest for the full duration of copyright in and to the Entry Materials throughout the world. Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, you acknowledge that Sponsor will own all rights to use, modify, and make derivative works of the Entry Materials, without separate compensation to you or any other person or entity. You agree to take, at Sponsor’s expense, any further action (including, without limitation, execution of affidavits and other documents) reasonably requested by Sponsor to effect, perfect, or confirm Sponsor’s ownership rights as set forth above in this paragraph. Parental consent to such actions may be required of entrants below the age of majority in their jurisdiction at the time of entry. Entry Materials may be used by contestants only for purposes of the Promotion or for private, personal, non-public viewing. Entry Materials received by Sponsor may be destroyed by Sponsor at any time following the Promotion.

K. Other Details: Prizes will be distributed via the in-game Moogle delivery service (which may be subject to change at the Sponsor's discretion). Please note that this is a virtual prize with no monetary value and cannot be sold or transferred.

By entering the Promotion, you agree to be bound and abide by these Key Rules and the Additional Rules applicable to your place of legal residence, and you represent that you satisfy all eligibility requirements to enter the Promotion.
