Around Japan in Five Days

Event

Greetings, everyone!

A semi-jet lagged Camate here to share the recent adventures of Sound Director Masayoshi Soken.

As many of you already know, we just released the new Blu-ray Disc Music "Heavensward: FINAL FANTASY XIV Original Soundtrack," and to celebrate, Soken is on tour across Japan visiting 7 different cities! Talk about being a rock star!

He did take a brief "break" to catch up on some work in the Tokyo office (Bayohne and I were lucky enough to see him to give a quick hello.), but he has been dashing around to location to location since February 24.

Let's take a look at what his day-to-day was like!

Wednesday, February 24: Tokyo - Tower Records Shinjuku

The first day of soundtrack sales. I heard that tons of customers came into the store, and Famitsu recorded the mini-concert. Though the content is Japanese, there are a lot of great pictures and a video, so if you have a moment be sure to check out their articles:

Soken also performed a duet with Takada from the sound team as well on this day. This duet was only in Tokyo, so those who were able to listen to it were lucky!

Thursday, February 25: Nagoya - HMV

Hopping onto the bullet train and riding it for 2 hours, Soken left Tokyo behind and arrived in Nagoya. Before going to the venue, the crew visited shops that had a lot of our soundtracks.

A post-show commemorative picture in a classic Soken style!

Friday, February 26: Osaka - Tower Records in NU Chayamachi Umeda

Heading out from Nagoya, Soken went further west to Osaka.

This is the same spot that we held an event to celebrate the release of the "Before the Fall" soundtrack!

Quite the crowd amassed for the event! Soken quickly entertained attendees' song requests since he said that the songs he practiced beforehand he'd already played at the previous event.

Soken left his mark on the message wall and took a picture in front of it.

Saturday, February 27: Fukuoka - Tower Records in AMZU PLAZA Hakata

Soken and crew continued their journey across Japan and arrived in Hakata, Fukuoka around noon.

Here's quick picture in front of the venue.

There were a lot of passionate requests from the attendees, and Soken gave a performance with a serious look on his face.

Yet another post-show picture! Compared to the other locations, it was quite hot in Fukuoka, so he was able to ditch his top layers of clothing to cool down.

Sunday, February 28: Yokohama - Tower Records in Yokohama VIVRE

After heading all the way to the opposite end of Japan, Soken and crew took a plane back to Tokyo and then went right to their next stop of the tour--Yokohama.

Here's a snapshot of Soken during the event. In addition to a regular piano performance, he also did a special performance on a toy piano he brought with him!

With the sea of attendees present, it was impossible to see the small stage at the store.

After the concert concluded, there was a signing session that generated a line that wrapped around the building. Attendees endured the cold weather to meet with Soken.

Soken cheers with a victory pose after finishing another event, but his journey continues the following weekend for another round of his tour across Japan.

Soken's adventures take him to Sendai and Sapporo next where the cold awaits, so be sure to send your warm support his way! I'll fill you in on the details of his trip once he is back in Tokyo!
