Character
Well, the expansion is here and so are the Viera. You see them here, there, and everywhere. They actually REALLY stick out because of their height and those ears.
Because of that, it is kind of hard NOT to notice them and that got me to wondering if people like that aspect of them.
Unlike the Au Ra and Miqo'te, who tend to be short, cute, and not too noticeable to the eye, the Viera are tall, statuesque, and VERY noticeable. They are also not terribly 'cute' like the other animalesque races either, more amazonian like the Elzen and Ro.
It makes me wonder that now that they are in the actual game and people see them in action, if the Cat Girl lovers really do like how their new bunny girls look since they lost that cute, short, sexy look that the Miqo'te are known for, and the adorable pitiable look the Au Ra are known for.
Personally I dont like them. I changed to try it out but in the creator I started to get the sense that the devs didnt really want to make bunny girls. The hairstyles are limited, even worse the difference between one hairstyle to the other are added bangs or something just as slight! You dont have the option of changing the muscularity of the body build either. With the guys you can adjust how athletic they look. When it came to the ears, that too felt limited. I wanted floppy fun ears not
Antennas that had just been bent backwards. Just my opinion, turns out the bunnies are not my cup of tea. Oh did I mention I didn't see an option to adjust tail fluffness or length...because these bunnies don't have tails. Yea, I will be switching back.
Been liking them, but think they need more development. Figure devs will update over time. Tbh one thing that's kind of cool, Roegadyn ladies having a fuller frame is more clear when situated in contrast to Viera. Kind of heightens awareness for me that there is variety going on.
New races are meh. Hyur to stay.

First off THONG!... let's go ahead and throw that out there. Also for my main I mostly play melee or tanks. I find the Viera as you put it... "amazon" like fit really really well with those types of class. Mainly my dragoon and tanks. I personally love them. I have always been a huge fan since Fran and FFXII.
Well, interesting opinions, it's pretty much what I was expecting.
Some love it, some hate it, and some would like some changes to them.
And then there are those that think like me. I'm with you Ronove, Hyur all the way! ;p
I briefly considered it when I found out they'd be Amazonian. I even made a joke character with Tifka's hair color in the benchmark and ended up liking how she looked. So for a very brief moment, I was sorely tempted to switch for awhile as I do have a free Fantasia I haven't used.
But in the end, I have my Fem Roe alt - and I enjoy having such a rare race/gender combo very much. As for the Lala - she's not going anywhere either. And this game makes alting too hard for me to bother.
I defo like them but agree on them needing more development. I think they said they'll add the unlocked hairstyles for them in a future patch so we will see.
I was however surprised how tall they are in comparison to Mi'qo's. I kind of like it because it's usually short stuff and now my character can spit on everyone's head :D
I do have a complaint about the Viera though. One thing I like about the cat girls is how expressive they are with their tails and ears as they emote.
Disturbingly, I haven't seen any Viera emotes where the ears move. Kinda disappointing.

Viera reminds me of Latin American people.. I made Selena Gomez look like with Viera hahahah!!!
I didn't pay much attention. I am more curious that the high heels some of those npc Viera are wearing (not all of them do, but some). Not just about fighting, but it looks uncomfortable to stand.
Well, this is a fantasy game, I guess revealing clothing offers more protection and high heel get you run faster.... only if you are a girl.
Viera wear heels because of the shape of their feet, at least in ffxii there is a lore reason.
"Well, this is a fantasy game, I guess revealing clothing offers more protection and high heel get you run faster.... only if you are a girl. "
Sigurd, saying that reminds me of a perk in the RPG Gurps Supers called 'High Heeled Heroine. It allows you to run in heels without any penalty. Good for those superheroes who INSIST on wearing boots with high heels! ;p
Only in a fantasyish game, right? Real life you'd probably break your neck. ;-)

Less armor means you move faster... duh!
