Garet Jax is a character from the novel series "Shannara" by Terry Brooks. He is a mysterious weapon master who helped the protagonist, Jair Ohmsford, on the 3rd installment of the series "Wishsong of Shannara". After helping Jair Ohmsford with his quest, Garet Jax was thought to have died after defeating a great beast near the end of their quest. His seemingly lifeless body slumped on the mountain wall.
But unbeknownst to anyone there, Garet Jax indeed survived and moved on to Eorzea for a new life full of new adventures and meeting new people. His quest done on the "Four Lands" and his promise to Jair Ohmsford fulfilled. He saw no reason to stay behind his former continent. Hearing about the new continent of Eorzea with its new diversity and new perils, Garet Jax jumped at the first chance to sail towards this new land and settling in the forest city of Gridania.
With the mysterious disappearance of the Garlean Empire which had sought to invade Eorzea and the rumors of its reappearance imminent, Garet Jax waits in anticipation of this coming conflict, honing his skills with the new weapons he finds here in this new continent, mingling with new companions and exploring these new lands to better familiarize and prepare himself for the grand and ever evolving adventure that awaits him....
