Throughout life, Rai'ji was always seen as one of the weaker members of his Seeker tribe. He was considered a "runt of the litter" to be blunt. Because of this, most of his clan looked down on and underestimated him for his size and lack of physical might. He also wasn't much of a follower of the traditional ways of the Sagolli, always being scolded by the pack leaders at least once a week. As life went on for Rai'ji, he wasn't interested in taking a leading position in the tribe. He also was fully aware that he was not going to become a breeding male also, which he was fine with, being so reluctant on following tradition. On some of his trips to Forgotten Springs, he would notice adventureres coming and going of all races. There were even some Miqo'te like him, ones that left there clans to take up a new life. Rai'ji found this as a perfect opportunity and left the Sagolli without a second thought, taking on his new name, as well as his sister R'ayala who followed along. They began their journey in the city-state of Ul'dah...

Now, Rai'ji is one of the members of the Tabula Rasa free company, with his first group of true friends he has ever had. Even so, he has a tendency to get under the skin of his fellow company mates sometimes. At first he comes off as an arrogant and cocky individual, and due to his size and the growing skill of his friends, always feels like he has something to prove. Under that, however, he can be a bit insecure about himself. He wasn't the strongest member of his clan, and he knows he's not the strongest in this company. Still, if you need a shield to stand behind, a shoulder to cry on, or a fist in someone's face, he will be there to provide.

As time went on during the events of "Heavensward" and "Stormblood", Rai'ji's demeanor changed. With the loss of several friends through their travels, he began to feel he was more of a hindrance to the group. There was a point in time he left the Free Company after the events of Baelsar's Wall to do some soul searching, leaving R'ayala with the company so she would stay safe. Rai'ji found a way through the wall, joining the resistance in Rhalgr's reach before the Eorzean Alliance made it through. During the Garlean raid, he met back with the rest of Rasa, with R'ayala now on the front lines in Rai'ji's place. With the attack leaving them all broken and exhausted, Rai'ji decided to rejoin the company, though his doubts still weighed heavy on him. As time went on, his confidence started to return. He re-discovered his worth to the group and found a new "tribe"...no a family with this company at last.

Rai'ji's attitude has seemed to returned to his more overconfident and cocky ways. However, there is a bit more maturity to be found now. It's no longer about proving something to anyone, its about improving to protect the ones you care about. Just recently, he's even taken an apprentice in Minami, a new recruit to the FC.
