Originally from Limsa Lominsa, Rolie Takemura was brought up as a puller, reeling fish in all day, every day. As he grew older, he thought more and more about what was outside, outside of the small fishing guild, where he made a living, then, outside of quarter where he lived, then outside Limsa Lominsa itself! He would go to the Mizzenmast, and listen to stories about places he had only ever read about. Intrigued by would be adventurers swapping stories about powerful beasts or how they had helped someone in trouble.
Packing lightly, Rolie left the fishing capital of Eorzea, planning a trip to Gridania and then on to Ul'dah.
Amazed by the sights he had encountered on his journey, he decided that this was the life he wanted, not to be tied down in one place, but constantly on the move.
In Ul'dah, after being approached by a large Roegadyn fight promoter, he agreed to a one on one exhibition match in the Colosseum. Spotting the potential in the young man, the Roegadyn offered to sponsor him for a posistion within the pugilist guild, where he served for some ten years, during which time, having completed contract work he was offered an unconditional placement as a recruit, within the ranks of the Immortal Flames, which he proudly accepted, and still serves with to the day.
Shooting through the ranks, Rolie became a flame corporal in no time at all, and was normally found either out on the front line, smiting the enemies of the flames, or found within the halls of flames crafting something he could put to use on or off the battlefield.
Amongst his friends in LittleOmen and the Kindred Lycans, Rolie has never been too far, that he cant answer his Linkshell, and will normally travel to even the darkest of places to aid his fellow adventurers had they ask it of him.
However, Rolie can also be found taking some downtime, near any of Eorzea's lakes, steams or oceans, rod in hand, contemplating, what would have happened, had he not left?
