There are a million shattered worlds and in each of them is the Warrior of Light. Tempered by Light itself, driven to adventure, compelled to accept every quest, every task, every challenge no matter how impossible or trivial, the Warriors of Light are bound to act. Their existence is not their own, and their choices are not theirs to make. Their worlds touch as they are called and summoned to aid each other in their adventures and trials, for their numbers are many, just as their burdens are without end. Made indestructible through the power of the echo, a power that rewrites time with each failure and which revives them upon death, the Warriors of Light do not age nor sicken. They are eternal. And, yet, they are bound always to follow the endless tide of adventure, seeking to set right all wrongs. They are like unto a force of nature, like unto the winds and the snows and the endless waves: eternal and yet bound to an endless and intractable purpose. Thus is Daireanne, one of the many. Her tale is little different from the others. And, yet, she understands what is happening. She knows that she is trapped, controlled, driven, and enslaved by the light. This is her greatest curse. For, in knowing, she yearns for a freedom and peace that she can never have.
