I am now raid logging and I hate it

THE CONTEXT
So, last time I posted any blog on the Lodestone, I mentioned that I was severely burned out of the game. And this turned out to be both true and not. See here, since I wrote this blog I've bought and played NUMEROUS games, including my most recent acquisition, Baldur's Gate 3 which I am loving to bits, you have no idea... However, in FF14, I've been logging in daily, but my focus was trying to get geared up and practice for raiding.
A lot of my focus this summer has been directed at practising a new job that I picked up at the start of the tier at the recommendation of one of my best friends and I've been going ham on how much time I spent in the most recent Normal versions of the Pandemonium raids just getting the hang of it and how it plays so that I can one day bring it in Savage and I have... but there have been issue.
----------------------------------
The lovely people from my friend group turns out have different raiding styles and paces we like to go at. Initially I wanted to put a practice group together to raid with them, but somehow waiting 12 weeks for some of them to finish the tier to start playing with them has really gotten to me and has made me want to just go ahead of some of my friends to compensate for all the time I waited.
Raiding has created a LOT of discontent especially between me and my best friend, the Femroe in the above image, and for nothing else than we get different things out of it. My choice to go ahead and learn fight mechanics in PF does not sit well with him who is experiencing raiding for the first time. I don't begrudge him just wanting to do everything with a static, but currently I'm not every content with the idea of a static.
I also don't want to be the person who forces others to join her, so I just go at it alone in PF. This has caused disinterest in the practice group I started organising, however... the vicious cycle of disinterest and discontent continuing and I perpetuating it.
-----------------------
There's also this prevalent idea that there isn't much of anything else to do in the game at this point in time and a lot of my friend group just choose to bond over another game - Baldur's Gate 3 now has 3 of my friends playing it, currently.
Despite the sheer amount of self-doubt and discontent raiding has instilled in us, recently my friendship with my best friend has gotten stronger, as there is a great kinship between us now. It's sometimes a wonder we already know each other for a year... I will always be there for him as he is for me.
-----------------
Currently I'm just so sad that my friends are playing the game less and less and that has all to do with just how incredibly dry these patches have been. Everyone inadvertently defaults to raiding and as I've seen first hand, raiding is the source of a LOT of grief in my friend group. I just hope this gets sorted out next patch. I miss just having fun with them.
Stay safe, my fellow Warriors of Light. See you from time to time from now on.

you got me curious here Elril, why you dont want a static? also its good to see long lasting friendships in this game. regards
it also depend what you are looking for too but I do agree the patch are well kinda bad wish you find a way to enjoy thing around and static is easier to keep going with unless you are into guides and so on the pf will be decent but I do think they need more content for midcore players you sound like one if I may say
Its a pity you all cant just jump on together whenever you feel like it but i guess everyone has irl stuff and just cant be at the same levels or progress all the times , im glad you are still very great friends though, they are very lucky to be friends with you and to share the game with you at least 😊
