I decided to do a little crafting, even though I've previously played FFXI and know there is no such thing as "a little crafting" in these games. From starting in my not so flattering servant's rags as a culinarian at level 1, I enjoyed the crafting mini-game so much that I leveled it to 20, and not just so I have prettier clothing while I'm cooking... well, after the starting rags, I have to admit that was indeed my motivation. That and making food that matters to a level 17 adventurer. Since I was already in Ul'dah for the envoy quest, I became a weaver and quickly became addicted to watching myself sew on a little embroidery canvas. When I received my sewing wheel, I was mesmerized by watching the wheel turn for about 15 levels. That has to be the cutest and most accurate crafting animation ever! Oh and I wanted to be able to make my own robes and stuff (she added as an afterthought.) Since I fish in every game I've ever played, I unlocked fishing and did that for the rest of the day. I love, love, love the fishing log and this phrase "You cast your line into the undiscovered fishing hole" Omg, it's undiscovered, I need to discover it! For that matter, I need to discover all of them! Look, a new fish! Oh wow, I beat my previous weight record! 12.5 ilms?! That's madness compared to 3.5! And so it went, for the whole night. I am happy to report that I have unlocked all of the undiscovered fishing areas in all of La Noscea that I was able to go into without the worry of getting killed. Although once I unlocked the stealth action, nothing could stop me! Warning: Fishing is addicting.
