Gripes with the Vote Kick System

Today, I was not terribly happy with two of the duty roulette dungeons I healed. In both dungeons, there was one DPS who decided to constantly pull creatures, left and right, regardless of how far they were in relation to the party.
I will not name names, but in the first dungeon the tank, the other DPS and I mutually agreed to stop constantly rescuing this person and let him die each time he aggroed something. No matter how many times we said stop pulling or told him to let the tank go first (yes, we used the auto-translate option too), he wouldn't listen. We considered the vote kick, which none of us had ever used before, but the options listed didn't cover the actions our fourth party member had been taking. None of us knew if we picked a random choice to boot this person that there'd be repercussions. In the end, we suffered through and completed what should have been a 20 minute dungeon.
Something very similar happened a second dungeon, except one person warned us that vote kicking for any reason not listed can result in actions being taken against your account. The other DPS confirmed this, mentioning something along the lines of once receiving a temp ban because "other" reasons are considered an abuse if the kicked person files a report. Once again, we decided not to use it. After letting that last person die repeatedly, mainly because I had to save my remaining MP to heal the tank, he dropped the group out of explicit frustration.
Why can't we list a reason for using the kick? When someone doesn't listen to simple instructions, use common sense, or could care less about the rest of the party, what option is left? It might be just me, but the vote system needs more flexibility not NOT limit itself to AKFers, offline players, harassers, and cheaters.
I would have gone with "Harassment". You told the player to stop, they kept doing it.
I'd doubt that a GM would say anything because this falls under "difference in play style" and they don't enforce that. You guys were in a defensible position.
We had a terrible bard once who pulled and kited all the monsters in the dungeon. Every mob. So I sat down and refused to tank, the healer refused to heal and the other DPS was Ghost so he tried to teach the Bard the error of his ways. Did not happen. He eventually dropped cause we didn't wanna play his way. The BLM who replaced him woulda got all three comms even if we weren't all in a party cause we were so relieved.
Oh so you can report people for kicking you? good to know, got kicked out of a dungeon as a i116 drg, as the players harassed me about my nexus weapon.. I was just like w/e jealous and salty players
I'll consider using the harassment option next time, though I wasn't expecting it to be a blanket term. I've played a variety of MMOs over the past ten years and I've never felt so uneasy about vote kicking.

"You can be banned for vote kicking" = "I'm going to be a jerk to you and lying about it so you won't kick me".
You won't get into any trouble for vote kicking somebody for "the wrong reason". You'll only get in trouble if you abuse the system by repeatedly kicking people for no reason. Like if you kick a person in every group you get in, then you might get in trouble. Otherwise you're fine.
I use the vote kick, regardless if the excuse is not listed there. I screen shot everything that happened and use it if I need to. I don't need to be put up with an obnoxious person just because the reasoning isn't there. I would however have used "Harassment" as an excuse for those occasions you had.
I voted kick once....the person had selected follow and just followed a dps as we did all the work bassicly being carried through the dungeon. Pretty much oposite from your story lol needless to say when they did not respond we kicked as afk. The party then enjoyed smoking joints together till a new dps showed up

come on, kicking somebody out it's not gaming it's competition, not fun
