Over the course of one sleepless night of insomnia, I finally managed to grind enough experience to get my Rogue/Ninja class to Level 50, at last! (I also ALMOST have enough money for a private room at the Free Company headquarters, huzzah!) About five levels ago I snatched up a high-quality Rainbow Shirt of Scouting for a clean 15,000 gil at the marketplace (none of the accompanying armor pieces in that set are nearly as cheap), which I was wearing while I did the job quest--as seen in the screenshot above.
However, the "Shirt of Scouting" set has a more ordinary-clothes ninja look to it, and I much prefer the armored and elaborate design of the Ninja/Koga Chainmail set. So while I'm still wearing the arms/legs/feet/head armor of the Koga set, I decided to take a trip down to Mor Dhona and unlock, at last, the glamor system. My Rainbow Shirt of Scouting now matches the rest of the Koga Chainmail armor set, and do I or don't I look good in this badass suit of armor?

Oddly enough, I can't seem to find any actual ninja-looking dagger weapons yet, but that's all good because a friend crafted this weapons for me while back--sort of high-tech-looking fold-up blades, and god damn these are good weapons for my current level. There's one better weapon on the marketplace I think (hideously expensive), but it uses one of the ordinary "generic" weapon models.
Anyway, I feel really accomplished having FINALLY reached endgame-level (for the base Realm Reborn campaign) and having gathered a full set of not-generic ninja gear. I still need to have a gearset for a basic Rogue set up on the side, though--Rogue and Ninja keep their own separate hotbar arrangements, see, and it pays to have your "non-job" classes set up for when you decide to dive into sub-level-30 dungeons or guildhests.
I'm gonna get some sleep. One more thing, though; while the Koga set is sellable and not considered a "Special" item, the somewhat-weaker "Ninja Chainmail" is not, and can even be stored away in the armoire whenever I don't want to lug it around. I assume there's a set of Job armor for every job that's the same way? It's handy, because it lets you keep glamor-fodder versions of the iconic Job costumes around without taking up inventory/armoury/retainer space.
Yeah, it is your artifact armor. If you get rid of it, you can always buy it at a calamity salvager. Be forewarned that the dyeable version of the koga set cannot be placed in the armoire, but you can dye it!
Actually it doesn't look like the Koga set can be placed in the armoire at all, just the "ninja" set (i.e. the less-purple version).
sorry, that's what I meant, the 45-50 set goes in the armoire unless you opt for the dyeable version. The 90 gear was the Mythology set back in the day. Now it can be acquired from Temple of Qarn and the other two dungeons that came with it. Or at least the items to trade for the gear.

I'm still one level away from being able to get my job's gear, so I'm a little jealous that you've both got your gear and have hit max level.
I still have ten levels to go (and there are additional Job quests added for levels 51-60), so I'm not quite max-leveled yet. But I'm set in terms of gear and levels for a good long while, at least as far as Ninja goes.
And ah, I see. They changed ARR's loot-getting system around significantly, then.

Nice~ There's quite a lot of things you can do to get higher-Ilevel gear, including the Crystal Tower raids. They're not too hard and the gear looks nice.
Well, as I understand it, my body armor is just about as good as I can get until I level up some and get into Heavensward equipment, but the rest of my armor could do with some bumping up and my accessories in particular are way behind the rest of my gear (still being level 30-40 stuff). At this point I don't have to worry as much about the look of my gear, though, since I can glamour that to look like any other gear I've got within reason.
I do mean to get the other pieces of the Shirt of Scouting set, though, because Koga Chainmail can't be augmented with Materia. Which I still need to get Leatherworker two more levels to properly work with myself, come to think of it, at least without outside help. I have a lot of spiritbonded gear sequestered away that needs to be processed into Materia, too.
Oh, indeed ! It's ilevel 115, which is near the highest levels you can get at level 50. You could in theory run some raids and trials to get ironworks armor (ilevel 120, upgradeable to 130), but getting to Heavensward would take less time, yeah.

Mostly I just have a crapton of duplicate gear from quests and such.
