A VERY wild night at work last night. Our freight load didn't show up. At all. So, we spent the whole night working in other places. I definitely can't complain. Much. Oh, and the star franchise player I usually work with on Fridays? It's his last day on the graveyard shift, and will be working the day shift now. This is gonna really suck, because I have a feeling they will now stick me with the Irish Setter (formerly Big Red) from here on out. But, we'll see come next Friday. Maybe he'll quit by then. Got my fingers crossed!

Buuuuut anyway, I decided to do a Path of Achra session when I got home from work. I did a run with a tried-and-true Fatty Firey Thorns character that I just fully completed a run in one go with. But, if I ever play this game again, it's probably going to be with these kind of guys, good solid standbys, and not the experimental maybe, maybe not kind of characters.

And I went ahead and did a Heretic + Hexen stream, expecting it to be a one & done (I'm not a big FPS gamer overall). Nope! Looks like I might actually stream this game again. They did a real good job with the remake, adding some good quality of life stuff, like being able to use a controller and playing in windowed mode (a lot of old retro games I tried playing don't give you one or the other or even both). And both white_wimmin and yangwright (who normally only shows up for my HoloCure streams) seemed to like the games as well. SO glad I made the right call.

HoloCure, however, sucked. I only did two runs - one with Matsuri and another with Kronii - but both ended in failure. Luckily - I guess lol - my right knee was hurting at this point, and I still had other shit I needed to get done. So I just called it good.

Sunday



An extremely mediocre Pinball stream this morning. *sigh* Didn't really do much, just lasted a few minutes, tops, on each table. And it was just Pinball Arcade and Pinball FX3 this time. I had THOUGHT about going ahead and doing Zaccaria Pinball as well, but with the Über blah performance up to that point, it would've been more of a waste. Not to mention that the pain in my right knee was spreading out to my lower-inner thigh, as well as my upper calf. So, I just called it a stream.

And I felt kinda bad for Keitaro87, jayhotlaps, Martayyyyyyyy, as well as a new visitor named laser_los, for bearing witness to such a cruddy session. While it was by no means THE WORST, I've done much much better. *sigh*

So, this morning, after streaming Heretic & Hexen the day before. I checked out DOOM + DOOM II, to see if they got remade as well. They did! Sooooooo, it looks like I'll be streaming as many as FOUR 90s FPSes this afternoon. Hope it all works out well......

This next entry has hazy details, as I didn't start on this blog until several hours after I had my stream.

.....which it did for the most part! I started the stream with DOOM, playing that for about an hour. I think I made it to about level 5ish before having my fill and switching over to DOOM II. And it was the same thing here. I think I got to about level 5 or 6 until I decided to go over to Heretic. And apparently here, I accidentally overwrote my Heretic save file with the Hexen one, forcing me to have to start all over again. *sigh* I think I got to area 3 or 4 before jumping to Hexen. Here was where I had to cut it short, since my right knee was getting pretty naggy. But I think I got as far as the 3rd or 4th zone in the first hub before having to call it off. Oh, and white_wimmin was with me the entire time for this (I kinda wish Yang was as well, but it is what it is).

But one thing that really killed me - other than the enemies in these games, because I'm not an FPS person, and I haven't played any in years ie. I suck - is the fact that I don't quicksave enough. I'll just toot right along, forgetting to save the whole time, and then suddenly get cold-cocked out of nowhere, killing my progression and setting me WAAAAY back. <Oops!>

But, I do plan on streaming these again tomorrow though. ;)

Monday Morning

No Pinball stream this morning. One, I've been sucking silverballs lately. So it's probably best to take a break. And two, I'd like to give my right knee an extra day of rest, the last few streams having to be cut short due to it hurting too much after a while.

Instead, I just played some Caves of Qud. I FINALLY managed to get my controller to work wirelessly, so I can play this game while sitting on my couch, and not having to sit on the floor in order to do it. But as for the session, I did some more exploring with my mutant character (my cyborg is definitely on the shelf now). And, after the constant dying I've been doing in yesterday's retro FPS stream, I may create another "roleplay" character (roleplay = restart at a checkpoint when you die). But we'll see, if I ever go back to streaming Qud, that is.

And after that, I started watching Smokey and the Bandit, an old popular 70s movie I used to watch when I was a kid/teenager. YouTube recommended it, so I figured why not. Still holds up, even to this day! Although, on the downside, at least with me, there's a fair amount of smoking in this that I had to skip (a huge turn-off for me). I get that it's a 70s movie, but still,...... Some cool bluegrass music in this one as well (as long as it isn't orchestra-backed. WHY?!!!!!!).
